What default Asobo aircraft are considered to be ok or good?

Featured Replies

Hi,

since we have actual pilots here i would like to know what stock (default) Asobo aircraft (does not matter if standard or delux or premium delux edition) are concidered "OK" or actually good overall.

I would consider the use of the Working Title G1000 as given since its a marketplace mod but no other mods.

I heard the 172 is quiet good actually and that one of the airliners is "ok" also (at least if you dont need a study level plane).

So general physics and flight dynamics and and least the most important systems and nav devices and the AP are simulated overall well but not as detailed as the study level $50 addon aircraft.

Any opinion on the Cessna Caravan and A320 for example?

Pure default wise, C172 is your best bet, especially post SU9 with all the CFD & prop physics enhancements... After SU8 the King Air and some others got the prop physics enhancements in addition to the C172.

Outside of that, to get the best out of the default aircraft you'll really need the various great freeware mods out there for these birds, or get separately available freeware aircraft like the FBW A320, Working Title CJ4, etc. Found this on quick googling but might not be up to date: https://www.guidestash.com/guide/microsoft-flight-simulator/best-free-airplane-mods-microsoft-flight-simulator-2020/

I'm not an IRL pilot, so hopefully some of them will chime in here soon.

I’m not a real pilot but the Cirrus is my favourite.

Not used the Caravan for a while, but needed a mod to get it to work consistently from cold & dark.

Wouldn't touch the A320 without FBW, or the CJ4 without WT tbh....

Hi, are you also only talking about modded aircraft or the default Asobo ones?

I have added the freeware Rob Young mods to the G36, but it flies just fine in its default state.

I think the C-152 is the best simulated aircraft in the sim, but it hasn't any modern avionics.

None if they are not heavily modified. Maybe the 152. 172? They clearly stated this in a q/a that they would not be payware level and not stepping on 3pd toes but lets be honest some of these payware developers  are on par and some worse than default making money, shame.
