and how does that qualify you for a programming environment 40 years later (DirectX 12, c++, GPU programming) with gigabytes of RAM available? the TV repair man was used to soldering iron in a tubes and transistor environment, we still have TVs, but those skills are totally useless today. a little more appreciation of what MS/Asobo have achieved please.

It's a joke, Joyce.

Is the solicitation created by the same who do the SU's?  If so they might look instead for experienced coders.

But an honest one....

Do you really believe that the coders cannot code a pop-up?  It makes no sense, considering that MSFS20 is a very sophisticated program.  Its like critical thinking is not a skill that people have today.

Well please explain the described functionality or non functuality......it was not an insect that was squashed between the pages of the program.

Interesting. I went into Dev mode yesterday in order to turn on the built in FPS display as I wanted to check on something. I did indeed get the "We're hiring" dialogue. I simply clicked "Don't show again" and dismissed the dialogue. While in full screen mode. Didn't have to change to windowed mode.

What can I say but, it worked as designed for me.

Ditto. I also discovered why I was getting a hang at 'Fly'. I was using 512.59 nVidia drivers. Rolled them back to 512.15 and all was good. First time EVAH drivers made and darned difference!

I had the same luck today, first time in DevMode after updating to SU9, and could successfully interact with the popup in fullscreen mode, of course, just for killing it out of sight. Maybe the "geniuses" did something, this time correct, in their backend.

As Soren so nicely pointed out, I had already started a thread on this exact topic, maybe we could ask the mods to close yours and keep mine.  😈

What I'm wondering is, if I turn off devmode, will I have to re-answer the question about hiring again.  I already had it crash my sim once, I could go for gold with two CTD's.

Just so happens I recently purchased a 3080ti and I'm running with devmode on at the moment for testing.

And this is the reality of something like this: it's a problem particular to the individuals' runtime environment. If no crash occurred on Asobo's side, there was no issue for them to see. That is normal development, not incompetence.

Asobo now hiring pop-up programmers ?

And you guys always thought that the Q&A shows the real important guys behind MSFS ?

Ever heard of face swapp ?

Also, it isn't an advert to hire programmers -- it's for a tester and community support person.
