August 30, 20223 yr Has anyone noticed that when about ready to flare ( I am flying the Fenix A 320) on about 5% of approaches, I get severe stuttering, making a smooth flaring almost impossible. It reminds me of the old days ot FSX and P3D. I am wondering if this is a problem with the servers, since I am locked to 30 FPS and have no fps issues during the entire flight, except on these rare occasions on landing.
August 30, 20223 yr I've often wondered at what point does the server shifts from the ground scenery to the in flight scenery. Could be this transition is causing a slight delay and stutters. I've had it on the other side after taking off, then the stutter or CTD. Just guessing??? Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
August 30, 20223 yr It's happened to me too. Beyond annoying. i9 9900K at 4.9ghz, MSI RTX 3080, 32 G RAM, (3) 1TB SSD
August 30, 20223 yr I reported this issue in the beta here https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/drastic-fps-lost-on-final-landing-taxing-to-gate/539307 Feel free to upvote. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.
August 30, 20223 yr Can be a symptom of having your settings a bit too high when using addon scenery, planes, airports, etc. These can just overload your system a little. Yeah, but would think that all the airport scenery has already finished loading at that stage. Edited August 30, 20223 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Basically, it seems to me there is some line of code that goes into a infinity while loop and just clogs the mainthread. Your fps will go down very drastically and never recover, if you reload the aircraft at the gate, your fps will go back to normal. So there is a process during landing on final that causes the FPS drop. Edited August 30, 20223 yr by fogboundturtle https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.

If your settings are close to the edge, then it just tips you over. It does seem worse at more detailed airports. If it still occurs at lower settings, then that might not be the case, but my experience suggests that it may be what is happening. August 30, 20223 yr History seems repeating itself after all these years. Backwards GSX loading (option to call stands etc at 10000 feet below), scenery , PMDG sounds (later preload sounds before landing option in FMC) could all contribute to this dislike and immersion killer event. Also GSX loads no additional vehicles until you actually choose a gate - which most people do AFTER landing. So there's no FPS impact with GSX except when entering, standing on or leaving the gate; certainly not in the air. Oh and Bob does not have GSX, so much for your theory. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

The short time I used GSX (almost exclusively with the PMDG 737) before uninstalling it I never saw any kind of stutter, slowdown, cpu spikes...ever. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
