September 1, 20223 yr Her last hurrah, final curtain. If she wins the tourney, then she ties Margaret Court for most all time major championships. Court, however, is the only person in tennis history to complete all four majors twice, in all three disciplines (singles, doubles, mixed). Uniquely, she won all 12 as an amateur and then after a period of retirement, returned as a professional to win all 12 again. But back to Serena. This would be like Tiger Woods tying Jack Nicklaus. Either is a less than even chance, but possible. https://sports.yahoo.com/serena-williams-stuns-at-us-open-014752382.html 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. September 2, 20223 yr Rooting for her! I heard tickets were ~$5,000 for nose bleed up to $90,000 for courtside though! When you see the celebrities there supporting here it's not surprising! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 2, 20223 yr She is certainly going out as a top competitor! My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
September 2, 20223 yr Absolutely and completely hope she does not win this tournament and goes out soon, without tying for the record! I can't believe that we hold this person up to carry the torch for Women's tennis. She is not at all a class act and completely not deserving of this position. She's good at the game of tennis, yes. But that's about it. When you compare her to the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on the Men's side, she isn't even in the same league as far as the caliber of human beings they are and role models. But, yet, our society and the media keep worshipping her like she is. Disgusting!! Regards, Kevin LaMal "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings" - Shapiro2024

September 2, 20223 yr Honestly, being a follower of the ATP and WTA circuits, it's very disappointing that women's tennis nowadays is going nowhere. If you look at the top twenty women's players, according to the WTA rankings, you'll notice the frequent changes that suggests the players are more or less the same "average" quality. We've seen no more players like Steffi Graff, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, of course the Williams by the time they were young and in perfect shape and maybe Sharapova, in a long period of time. The ones that become No. 1 simply don't last more than a few weeks, clearly meaning they're not strong enough to stand defending their rankings. It's so graphic what is happening to the women's circuit, that an older Serena almost completely out of shape, is able to defeat world's No. 2, who in fact had surely played the worst match of her life, with less the 40% of first serves in during the first set, a number that doesn't certainly deserve her to be No. 2. Yesterday, an out of shape couple, Venus and Serena, were defeated 7-6, 6-4 by a couple of szechs, who also did not play very well either. September 2, 20223 yr I do think she played an ill-advised Doubles match (which she and her sister lost last night) when she's scheduled to play a Singles match tonight... In any case, Klamal: Everyone has an a right to an opinion re: Sports stars, and other celebrities, but your comments are pretty harsh, and mostly unwarranted - Female athletes around the Globe all remark of the inspiration the Williams sisters were to them. But I guess not to you..

Agreed, I've actually not heard much to disparage her reputation throughout her career but similarly have heard women around the globe comment on the inspiration and role model she has been to them for years now... Klamal, I'm curious the basis for those comments, maybe I missed something about her being a horrible person... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

September 2, 20223 yr Serena Williams certainly does not have the perfect temperament for a tennis player, but I admire her for the skill and power that she has demonstrated over more than two decades. I do not think that she will win the US Open, but then fairy tales do happen......and some of them happen in New York Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
September 2, 20223 yr Has there been any accusations of PED's? Just wondered. How often are tennis players tested?

Have not seen yet an in-depth analysis about this, but I suppose it's something that happens from time to time in sports. lack of money related incentives is not the cause, for sure. LOL Sampras was a royal word not allowed in real life, the guy who just called out a woman for being drunk is a real piece of work, Novak has had outbursts that are just as bad and well he's just Novak... There have been lots of Males over the years who didn't have the best temperament that's for sure. Still waiting for the explanation of why she is so disgusting from @klamal Interested to hear because that's some pretty strong criticism he laid. @martin-w I'm not aware of any performance enhancing drug accusations at all, tennis players have been tested for PED's for at least a couple of decades now so the entire time she has been playing... We will see what happens in about 15 minutes though the hype in NYC has been tremendous. Edited September 2, 20223 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
