September 7, 20223 yr Be good if they could expand on the patch notes a little more and advise people what to test exactly, even if it is "just fly as normal" like they request for the Xbox beta testers what about the PC testers?! Communication shoddy as ever. Also it's unlikely we'll get any more bug fixes for SU10 which is a shame but understandable, looks like it's all hands on deck for Xbox and memory optimisations since the last build. I'm now thinking just get this build out so they can concentrate on SU11, otherwise - with that set in stone release date - it could turn into another SU5/7 shambles....imagine that 😐 Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

I have spent maybe 40 hours flying in the previous build with an average day of around 10 hours in the sim. Not once did I experience a single drop in performance, those days are over thankfully.

On the previous beta to this, I was getting an FPS drop, limited by main thread during a flight from EGBB to KORD. Started dropping FPS to mid twenties over Quebec area and never recovered. I have my FPS locked at 30. Only way I could find to recover FPS was to disable photogrammetry, FPS recovered to normal and all was smooth for my arrival into KORD. This is with DX9, PMDG BBJ and ultra settings. I also see this FPS drop on relatively short European flights if I go anywhere near the Swedish coast, south east abeam Stockholm. I will need to recheck this new bata. That was my experience right up until this 1.27.18 build. So far, 3 attempted flights, two frozen sims requiring task manager to kill it and one Windows dialog box stating my GPU was overheating that closed MSFS when I clicked Ok. 1st flight froze on the ground as I was flicking light switches before calling for push (FB KIAD / PMDG 738) 2nd flight froze on climb as I was doing something trivial in the FMC. 3rd flight GPU overheat message - I happened to have both GPUz and HWInfo64 running at the time. GPU temp was a cool 69° C with a 'hot spot' of 72° C and no perfcaps. It was absolutely a false alarm on the GPU temps. Clearing out sceneryindexes and rolling cache next. I just got a Windows update as well, so fingers crossed. I hope I get that 1.27.19.0 version. Thanks Shamrock. I put this SIM aside the other day because every 2nd flight was suffering from the above. I'm not part of the beta team but look forward to giving it a go.

People on the other forum mentioning this as well as the message including something about GPU overclocks. Re: frozen sim issues - I’ve had this a fair bit on the previous build. Seems to disappear if I stay 100% in the sim and not alt-tab to other stuff. Still no chance to test. Curious if they’ve done optimizations to memory management in DX12. To increase performance? Did they enable memory management again and want people to check if the visual artifacts from the first build re-appear? Hard to tell 🤷♂️ 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

September 7, 20223 yr Author That would be the one. There is an entry in the system event log that indicates that the driver can't get a description for "Event ID 0". It looks like MSFS caused the Nvidia driver to lose it's mind. I think the dialog is a catch all since neither overclocking or overheating are actually happening on my system. From the System event log: The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: \Device\Video3 Error occurred on GPUID: 100 The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

I forget the procedure to install the beta, but if you look it up on Google its fairly straight forword. I was always reluctant to involve myself in the beta, as for obvious reasons, but the peformance degradation issue in SU9 and the delay in SU10 wore my paitence away. I am so glad I downloaded the beta and haven't a bad word to say about it, it is worlds away from SU9!

I don't watch FPS, but GPU usage was in the mid 80s, low 90s, and my CPU was at 35% or so. She was chewing MSFS up and spitting it out just fine. Smooth as silk. No issues.
