MSFS is demanding after all. Whoah hold on there 😅 That’s a very quick conclusion - bit too quick? I’ve seen others on the other forum reporting freezes and CTDs with this build. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I was always reluctant to involve myself in the beta, as for obvious reasons, but the peformance degradation issue in SU9 and the delay in SU10 wore my paitence away. I felt the same about beta testing. To join the beta just download the Xbox insider app from MS store, look for MSFS, select join. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
September 7, 20223 yr I'm very impressed by the latest SU10 beta update. DX11 is now as smooth as the original DX12 optimizations, both inside the cockpit and viewing external scenery -- on the ground and in the air. If SU10 is released in this condition, I think everyone will be very pleased. The original DX12 optimizations of SU10 have not yet been reinserted into the code. DX12, on my system, is slightly less fluid than DX11 at the moment but still performs outstandingly. If the DX12 memory allocations can be fixed, MSFS performance will be absolutely spectacular. And I have a seven-year-old system and 1070 graphics card delivered via a horse and buggy. The Asobo team deserves tremendous credit and our gratitude for their hard work. They appear to be the only sim-development team that has not "quietly quit their jobs." I always test at the worst-case scenarios -- large, handcrafted airports with a thick and complex cloud cover. But I'm very pleased with the current DX11. September 7, 20223 yr Hi, First flight, first CTD. Luckily, it only happened to me the first time. DX12 with fluid flight and rarely stutters. FPS fixed in 40, but drop to 18 or less when cloudy or complex scenery. Regards. ADDENDA: just now, another CTD when MSFS 2020 is starting (in total: 2 CTDs of 4 flights). September 7, 20223 yr Well I had a chance to test this and overall the experience was positive. No issues during update or starting the sim. Empty community folder. Took the V35 for a ~1hr flight in Japan over some photogrammetry areas. Performance was... very good in fact. Smooth and fluid, just like the last beta. It could have been even more smooth, but these things are hard to tell. Wishful thinking perhaps. I even managed to do a near perfect landing with 11-12kts coming at a near 90 degree angle and was pretty happy about it until I touched down and it didn't sound exactly normal. Lol - I forgot the landing gear 🤣 Kept laughing as ATC yelled at me: "Beechcraft ninety-five kilo, exit runway when able". At times I was unsure if I actually was on the latest beta, as I'm the guy who gets CTDs left, right and centre. Perhaps the neighbour was not using his microwave next door? Overall a good experience from start to finish - and yeah, the sim even shut down properly. Go figure! Anyway I double-checked and I'm on 1.27.18.0. Oh yeah, that was with DX11. Gonna try DX12 next flight. Some stats from HWiNFO: Max RAM used 14,2 GB Max dedicated VRAM 18,5 GB Average CPU usage ~2% Average GPU core load >80% 4K, all settings ultra, TLOD 400, shadows size 6144. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
September 7, 20223 yr I haven't noticed any real FPS improvements with .19 Flying between Yellowknife and Edmonton, in the FBWA20NX cockpit, it keeps jumping from 40 to 50, without touching the camera, sometimes a stutter drop to 30. External FPS goes between 57 and 59, sometimes drops to 50-53 for a second, no camera movement. This was the same FPS I got the last 2 patches.
September 7, 20223 yr And very good results with the PMDG in DX12/TAA on my rig as well. First time it works correcly without artifacts and stutters.... ! Menno i7-11700, 16GB, 1 TB SSD, 2 TB HDD, RTX 3070, Windows 11, MSFS 2020 DeLuxe, P3D 4.5
September 7, 20223 yr I'm seeing an increase in performance when using DLSS performance or ultra performance. Previously these settings did nothing for my FPS whereas balanced or quality did offer a benefit. I have version .18, MS Store edition. No crashes so far (hope I didn't just jinx myself). Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.

I think DX12 is working good for folks with the 30X0s, but not for us folks with the 10X0 and 20X0 series Nvidia cards. The 1st SU10 beta was super nice in DX12 for me. No artifacts or other issues, and it was very smooth. After they removed the optimizations, I had to go back to DX11 to get a smooth flight. 1 hour ago, iFlySimX said: DX12 seems to still have some stutters on the ground. Yes, it does. September 7, 20223 yr Well .. this update didn't seem to do much on my rig. No CTDs to report and no increases in FPS. I did however notice an unusually large freeze climbing out of KORD in the PMDG 737-800 which had me worried it would have timed out and CTDed ... but it didn't. I flew in DX 11 for that flight because while DX12 is noticeably smoother ( at a cost of -3 to -5 frames ) Asobo have yet to solve the ground tiles not properly showing in DX 12 mode at least for AMD GPU's. For me i think they still have some work to do smoothing out the frame pacing on DX 11 and removing those longer judders that have a very high potential to timeout and CTD unstable rigs.
