I don't think this really answers your question. But when using an XBox controller like I do, the controller starts vibrating when you roll down the runway.

Can you do the beta if you have the steam version?

Yes. Using CLS2Sim

You can vastly improve hdr on C1 by using Nvidia Freestyle filter. Use the 'brightness and contrast' filter. Put all sliders to zero and gamma to negative 28 (-28). Msfs has raised gamma which in turn raises the black levels and produces a washed out image. Try this let me know.

Thanks. To do this, do I also need to turn on hdr mode in Windows 10?

so it's a vibrator then, what color do they come in? 😀 I was more thinking in terms of wind and gravitation forces on the control surfaces.

Force feedback would have to be implemented via a 3rd party app and Simconnect or some such, as I don't think MSFS has support for FF joysticks out of the box unlike an old version of MS Flightsimulator once did 20 years ago. while it is possible if all necessary variables are accessible, I am afraid this could turn out to be major support nightmare with each and every MSFS update as it dives very deep into MSFS flight model data and you are dependent on Brunner alone. but if it works it could be quite interesting:

Seems to be working fine for folks that have them without any issues that I’m aware of? 💁‍♂️

I got permission from a user over at the official forums to use this graph I think it illustrates really well why DX12 is so highly anticipated.

9mVqFsT.jpg

This is from an all-AMD system, not dependent on the DX12 memory manager that was disabled early in the beta. DX12 gives exceptional CPU multithreading - I’ve had all 24 threads on my i9-12900 being used evenly. The performance benefits is not about higher fps, but higher 1% and 0.1% lows. This leads to fewer stutters and a much more smooth and fluid experience.

Here’s the background info from the graph as well as a link to the forum thread for completion.

More tests with DX12 this time in 2D. Same setup but adjusting settings, from a mix of ultra and high (my normal 2D settings) to the ultra preset and finally all options on ultra plus LODs at maximum. Again the, 1% ands 0.1% lows are very good as is the average FPS.

At EGLL Heathrow on all ultra preset I was getting 85fps on the runway in the stock A320 (not shown on this graph…and yes some missing tiles in DX12 still). I get about the same average fps in DX11, but the 1% and 0.1% lows are much worse.

Here’s another graph showing a comparison between DX11 and DX12. Notice the 1% and 0.1% lows.

A lot of us beta testers already know this, and hence are eagerly awaiting that nVidia driver. But I thought I’d post this anyway for people that might not be as up to date on the SU10/DX12 stuff.

"Hi everyone, thank you for your patience and continued reports.

We were able to confirm that this instance of this issue is related to being enrolled in the Gaming Services beta in Windows Gaming - version 6.69.8002.0, specifically. It has now been added as a Known Issue for the Windows Gaming App 2.

As mentioned in the above link, a fix for this is expected in the next Gaming Services release, but in the meanwhile we can suggest the workaround/solution earlier in this thread to leave the Windows Gaming beta. Leaving the SU10 beta should also resolve the error. Please note that leaving the beta early runs small risk of having your statistics in your Pilot Profile reset.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused, and I’d once again like to thank you all for your reports that have allowed us to help identify this."

thanks very much Captain. very impressive and as Ianrivaldosmith pointed out before: DX12 via its more advanced CPU/GPU scheduler is not about higher fps, but provides a lot more constant frame times resulting in noticeably smoother refresh rates. getting close to TV or movies which always run at constant refresh rates, there is never ever any stuttering even if movies may run at as low as 24 fps. this DX12 feature alone was worth all the trouble we went through the last weeks of beta "playing". and to top this off: next week after September 25th Nvidia's RTX 4090 launch: for those still without RTX 3090s GPUs it's the time to get fantastic graphics performance at new way below original MSRP prices, now as low as 1.000 $ and falling. life is good, sometimes for those who can wait.

Where did you read that?

Just check NewEgg.  I did a quick check for RTX 3090 and the first advertisement that came up had the RTX 3090 for $999.99 USD: https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=rtx+3090

With the RTX 4090 possibly coming out next month, I would think a lot of vendors are trying to dump their 3090.
