Fenix Update is out, too

I need to do some more flights to confirm, but on my first two post patch flights the plane seems really lethargic to climb/accelerate after takeoff.  On both my flights the airspeed initially increased, then started dropping down to about 140 knots before finally starting to climb again when I manually reduced the climb (the autopilot wasn’t climbing abnormally fast or anything, maybe 2000-2500 fpm?).  Weights are all well below MTOW.

I’ll do a few more flights and really pay attention to what the aircraft is doing but after hundreds of virtual A320 flights it seems abnormal.

I know there were tweaks to thrust and drag…maybe that has something to do with it.  Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

More like the real A 320 behavior on takeoff, the original was too much power.

Is it realistic though for speed to climb then plummet?  Feels very different than previous A320 sims (including FSLabs), the drop went far enough on one flight to disconnect the autopilot because speed was dropping dangerously low.  I was manually flying following the indictations on the PFD.

You should post this on their Discord Page.

Good idea.  Going to do another flight first though to make sure it’s not a “human factors” issue haha.

I have had the -speed-speed  warning announce a couple of times when on short final. Was a little turbulent, so that might have been the cause.

Fixed engine idle EWD and associated signals for APPR IDLE segments

Can anyone more knowledgeable shine some light on this fix, please?

I just had some issues on my second landing where the plane wouldn't want to slow down to flaps 3 speed on final. Maybe this is the fix?

Sure is…I made quite a mess of a CATIII approach into YYT last night because I got waaaay behind the aircraft.

I think the following are the fixes you are looking for:

- Added drag to Flap 2 and 3

- Added drag to landing gear

I don't have any problem slowing down. Flaps 1 at around 220, then speed in managed mode, flaps 2 down to 180, flaps 3 slows to around 150 or lower, flaps 4 Vref. I usually set appr phase in MCDU  around 60 miles from airport.

Ah maybe i should activating APP manually earlier instead of letting the bus do it Auto ?? , iam at TOD for Olbia now will try

I think we all get it by now, Bob. You never have any issues with the plane.

Many pilots think the auto approach phase is too late, and a number of airlines have it in their SOP that this is to be done manually. However, not much further back. Activate it within 10 miles or so of your final approach (will give you plenty of time - can be shorter, but you might find that easier to handle). Certainly don't activate many miles from the airport. It is an approach mode and shouldn't be used far from your turn to final approach.

I have issues now, with the flare and touchdown, which was changed in the update, and so did two real A 320 pilots in videos they posted on youtube.
