not to mention the various DLSS performance/quality levels. I see blurries mostly in altitude+ speed-tapes of glass cockpits. analog instruments are fine.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

Like @Maxis said, the blurry glass panels in DLSS was not slated to be fixed with these Nvidia drivers and Asobo never claimed this either. The masking of the glass panels for DLSS may come in SU 11 or SU 12.

Change back to TAA if you don't like the blurry glass panels.  Wait for Asobo to fix it in a future Sim Update.

if they can ever improve/fix that issue, then there is absolutely no way I will ever fly again without DLSS 3!

Hi

Slightly odd results for non-VR, but here you go:

3080Ti

Ryzen7 5800X

PMDG 737 T/o from EGPD (Aberdeen) then flight at 5000' westwards over Scottish mountains; Live weather

517.48 Game Ready Driver   Ryzen Simultaneous Multithreading ON

MSFS DX12  VSync Off

Comparison in VR (Reverb G2):

DLSS (Quality) : Avge 52fps      Smooth and crisp outside; decent cabin static lettering; slightly degraded FMS/glass cockpit lettering

TAA:  Avge 40fps    Smooth and crisp outside; decent cabin visuals

Comparison in 2D:

DLSS (Quality): Avge fps: 53     Smooth and crisp visuals

TAA: Avg fps 55  Smooth and crisp visuals

I don't really understand the 2D fps result...nor that I'm getting as good DLSS fps in VR as in 2D - but it might be because the headset was on and I was turning the VR on and off from within MSFS.  A better result with non-VR might have been if I'd started and stayed in 2D with the VR headset disabled.

Nice to mention a specific route. Will try that one too! Thanks.

Did a clean install of the driver...replacing the recent studio version.

I had just switched to DX12 in the sim before installing.   After install....all I get is CTD after the initial loading screen.  Community folder empty.

Manually set DX12 in UserCfg.opt to off and tried again...same thing.

Have both rebooted and total shutdown a few times, no effect.

Cannot get into MSFS now....thoughts/help?  Is there a way to manually start MSFS in safe mode?

Hey Steve,

Check the other config files in the same directory as UserCfg.opt (for example exe.xml) and make sure they haven't become corrupted for some reason. I had the same problem you are describing a few weeks ago and that turned out to be the issue. Gorn out.

Will do.....how to check for corruption and can I just delete them and they get recreated on boot?  Human out.

Hope you sort it Steve.

This whole Driver update and a recent decision to upgrade to Windows 11 for me has been a perfect storm for me personally.

I have a 5900x, 32Gb ram, an RTX 3080Ti and I have a 4k Monitor

After upgrading to windows 11 things worked fine for a little while, then the new SU10 came out almost the same time as windows 11 did an update. Result - disaster. (Even before i tried upgrading to the Nvidia Studio Driver

Unbeknownst to me , my SSD System drive was virtually full, thus Caching was not working well. Running MSFS after the update my FPS was abysmal (7 to 8 Fps) .

I tried downgrading the Nvidia driver  - it changed for just that one session to normal FPS. But on restarting, back to abysmal

Reinstalled the newest studio driver (prior to this latest update) using DDU to clean out the older NVidia driver  - same result

Resinstalled the older drive 516.97 - no difference

Tried moving files off the SSD to another drive - managed to get back 187Gb

Still no change

Ran Verifiy files in Steam - all good

Uninstalled my Steam version MSFS and all associated links

Reinstalled  - no difference in poor FPS

Tried again and went through a more comprehensive cleaning of MSFS files and resinstalled

All my Asobo extra purchase aircraft missing,  All my payware aircraft and scenery gone (I backed up the community folder but the symbolic link doesn't appear to be working)

Logged out of XBox and re-logged back in  - nothing changed - no ASOBO Marketplace aircraft I purchased downloading or appearing in the aircraft list.

As it stands. I have MSFS in its basic Deluxe format. Unplayable because of extremely low FPS. Regardless of which version of driver I select it eventuates in far below normal FPS

Reading this thread this morning offers a glimmer of hope that this new Driver will fix the low FPS.

If it does, then it back to rebuilding MSFS to where it was before all this happened.

Just an unfortunate and bloody frustrating set of circumstances I guess -

In my case it was the exe.xml and when I opened it up with Notepad++ it was filled with gobbledy-gook instead of normal text.

I deleted the exe.xml file then reinstalled the products that had made the original entries in that file (Fenix and FSRealistic). That rebuilt the file and all was well.

I have a ROLLINGCACHE.CCC that is a 16gb file (that equates to the rolling cache I set in MSFS)...its in the same folder as the UserCfg.opt file (C:\Users\steve\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache)

Is that the one you're talking about?

@Barnes I opened the exe.xml and it looks fine (all normal text and pretty short, just the Fenix install),   Should I delete anyway you think?  (or maybe move it somewhere)

It doesn't sound like you have the same problem as me then...

It wouldn't hurt to try renaming it as MSFS doesn't need exe.xml to start. If MSFS starts normally after you have done so, then you have found the issue.

I'm seeing a huge decrease in fames with this latest driver update. Currently flying Fenix A320 in mostly clear weather with the framerate not getting above 30. In the same scenario before the latest driver update, i would easily be able to achieve between 40 and 60 frames. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Same performance for me with the new driver vs studio driver,  DX 11 works best for me, got about 5fps lower with DX 12, DLLS doesn't give me any performance boost what so ever, only blurry instruments.
