FSLTL - live traffic finally released

Traffic separation is assured because human ATC in the real world made it happen. Just ensure the appropriate checkboxes are selected in the program.

Spoiler

Block aircraft

If a callsign is entered, PSXT will block a live aircraft with that callsign from appearing in your Simulator or if it is already in your sim, it will be removed immediately. This makes it possible to fly the real live flight instead of the real aircraft (while listening to live ATC) or in landings to take the place of a real aircraft in front of you.

Traffic collision avoidance

9.2.1 Collision avoidance user aircraft x other aircraft (on the ground only) PSXT detects a (near) collision if two aircraft are at a distance from each other less than the sum of their wingspans divided by two. If checked collisions between the user aircraft and live aircraft on the ground and static parked aircraft will be prevented by removing the other aircraft.

9.2.2 Collison avoidance live aircraft x static parked aircraft PSXT detects a (near) collision if two aircraft are at a distance from each other less than the sum of their wingspans divided by two. If checked collisions between live and static parked aircraft will be prevented by removing the static parked aircraft.

FTFY 😉

Yeah, any AI or live traffics seems to slow my sim down significantly.

I’m using FSLTL solely for Vatsim model matching with VPilot, and for that, it works superbly. I participated in a few legs of the recent WorldFlight event. At many airports there were 30+ other aircraft on the ground at the same time, and they were all depicted very well, with smooth motion and very little impact on frame rates.

I don't recall any AI/Traffic addon for any simulator ever which didn't take a noticeable fps toll. The least one (but even this one noticeable) was F1 Ultimate Traffic which, unfortunately, now is gone for good.

I'll certainly give Just Flight's FS Traffic a spin, but I would be more than surprised if it wouldn't drag fps either as did their previous traffic addons.

Kind regards, Michael

You are right but FSLTL was performing fairly well for me prior to SU11.

Trying to use the default online traffic, no more FSLTL at this moment, but I'm seeing a lot of ugly planes parked everywhere and too many others flying approx in the 100-150km range. I tried to disable the parked plane but it didn't work. So I decided to disable any traffic, waiting for an updated and better FSLTL version.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

I also recognized high thrust on all traffic taxiing. As they would takeoff.

Same here. As if they constantly have brakes applied.

I read some comments on the FSLTL Discord that this is an issue that Asobo are looking into.

I hope that they are also looking into the other issues that have impacted FSLTL (and AIG). I love the content delivered by SU11 and am grateful for it but at the same time it is sad to see the backward step that is affecting the excellent 3rd party traffic solutions.

is there anyway to get this working with the "new" kai tak?😃

I got now the ultimative tipp from the FSLTL dev on Discord:

"just don't use it!"

I wanted to report my decreasing frames and a strange zig zag line in my FPS graph, what I just have with FSLTL (doesn't matter which airplane addon) and an instant rant started from several people.

One of the first answers was (from a dev) that I simply shoudln't use it then. And that FPS doesn't count, its no ego shooter, etc. etc.

Freeware or not: no need to behave like this.

Asobo is aware of the AI issues

is Asobo aware of this? has no one tested this before? I hope this ATC gets fixed in the next update. As real as it gets in MSFS:

Hi Guys,

Just getting up to date with what's going on here.. reading through is there an fps issue and no moving aircrafts?

Just downloaded for the first time.. Aircrafts populated at gates but nothing is moving at all. also MY FPS drops from 52 to around 28 fps, is this normal? i thought this impacted minimally.

Many thanks

A performance hit is to be expected, but probably not as bad as you are experiencing. Check your settings (all traffic OFF in MSFS Options) and start with the default FSLTL settings.

With the FSLTL injector I am seeing take offs and enroute traffic. Aircraft also land but they get teleported to a taxiway after touchdown it seems. Using MSFS Live Traffic I see AI take off, enroute and landing but model/livery matching is patchy at best. From what I can see, a lot depends on the airport layout - even some of the handcrafted airports appear to have major flaws impacting AI pathfinding.

With FSLTL it takes a minute or two to "warm up" and then you'll see the planes start pushback etc.

*Note - As of now will not see landings with FSLTL. There was some change in SU11 and no word on when the issue is going to be fixed

Anyone else getting CTDs with SU11?  I can't seem to go 30 minutes without one.  Sometimes the sim crashes right after injection.
