FS2020+ DLSS3 review

This would really shine with VR. But with a price tag of >2000 € which I've seen for the first 4090 pre-orders from Germany, I am not sure I am willing to spend that much of money. That's the price normal people spend for a complete computer (which would be required on top of the card).

Kind regards, Michael

I can sell my radiator to recover part of the cost.

I mean it looks good in the video, but again the DLSS3 was frame generating from like 60 fps in the video which 60 FPS is already very smooth.   In MSFS you can be bottleneck to like 20-30 fps and I don't think frame generating from that low of a FPS would look good.

This is why i would like a flightsim specific review. I'm sure we will get one eventually.

This. If you get 142 FPS, that is for sure nice, but it means without DLSS 3.0, you already have 71 FPS, waaay enough. I wonder as well how it will work for very low FPS, because input lag wont be alleviated. Means: if your controls feel choppy with 20 FPS, they will still feel choppy with DLSS 3.0, but the FPS counter will read 40 FPS...

If the technology is anything like motion reprojection in VR, there may be some visual artifacts created, but the frame generation allows the image to appear extremely smooth.

Is it true that DLSS3 only works on 4000 series GPUs?

Seems like this, not working with 30XX cards needs the new technik what is inside the 40XX cards -  unfortunately, but that's the way it is..

cheers 😉

I always wondered many years ago when the computing/graphics power would bury the sim complexity in terms of fps. It was always the graphics card trying to keep pace to handle the new sim versions. We are now turning the corner where the new computing/graphics jumps way ahead of the sim load?

The 4090 Pulls less power than the 3090Ti.

You need 4K to get the best performance at 1080P CPU limited level with the 3090s

I've got two PSU's (750+850) but I'd probably need a bigger case, lol.

And more cooling unless you want to heat the room where your computer is located!

No. Only for MSFS, because MSFS is using DLSS.  From my understanding, P3D and XP 12 still perform more poorly than MSFS if you add all the graphical add-ons to P3D and XP 12 to bring their graphics as close as possible to MSFS.

Without MSFS, the graphics cards would still probably be a weak point with flight simulators.

I'd probably watercool it eventually like I'm doing now with the 3090. But yeah, my current rig is already pumping a lot of heat into the room.

Roger that! If the glass cockpit sharpness can be addressed (as I fly and view in 4K) I'll be jumping aboard.

Check the reviews 4090FE runs cooler than the 3090. Nvidia have done a better job on this GPU.
