October 25, 20223 yr Just tested the 4090 for the first time : This card has more power than the 3090. With my balanced settings where both cpu and gpu were yellow and the limited message switched from cpu to gpu , now the gpu stays green ( 30ms for the 3090 and 18-22 for the 4090 ). As I use Live AI ac + AIG the franerate stays the same. The 12900K @ 5.1/5.2 is clearly the bottleneck. My 4266 16T memory is running at 3800 otherwise it is too much for the system. Now downloading the SU11 beta…. I.e. should be possible to get around 60fps with the Fenix at KJFK with frame generation on. Landing it there could be another matter as Noel mentioned. And whether it would be a smooth experience. Although it is updated 30x per sec MSFS can’t make them appear completely smooth. The 4090 indeed is more powerful than the 3090. Will give you 7/8% more fps in TAA mode. However when using DLSS 3 it doubles the framerate of the output frames. My 12900K is now the culprit … 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

Not getting any of the stutters and stuff that Digital Foundry got with v-sync doing it this way. Btw, have you got your 4090 up and running? 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Bios immediately gave a message that I installed another cpu ? ?My wireless keyboard/mouse stopped working.I have connected a wired keyboard/mouse. Restarting takes at least 20 sec longer. I will reinstall thee 3090 to see if the wireless keyboard/mouse will work again. The 1000W PS is stabilized and imho is enough , but I have the new 1300W PS here. - - - Update : the new card pushed the USB3 connector so it came loose from the mobo. I am going to update to the latest firmware to see if it helps with the booting time. When I installed the 4090 on my Asus MOBO, the first thing that happened to me was that it didn't turn on correctly, it stayed in Boot, etc. I had to do a Clear CMOS and BIOS re-update and from there, all good.
