Poor Performance with NVIDIA 4090

It seems like most PC cases don't have the clearance for leaving 35mm for a bend according to the Jayz2cents video. I could well imagine that being true from what I have seen. Surely Nvidia would know that.

Terrible connector. I placed a piece of plastic to add some extra support.

When I close the door the cable gets bended extra .

If there is a better connector that bends immediately after the connector I will buy it right away.

I've seen that video now. This whole thing seems like a poorly implemented solution. I think Jay even went as far as recommending people to not use the side panel.

See the plastic piece that prevents bending to soon.

However, I do have another isdue. The blades (lamels) of the large fan are pushing against the “cable from hell” when I close the door from the case.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nvidia will have to do a total recall. It's a ridiculous design and quite shocking that something so obvious, in such an expensive and advance piece of technology, still managed to pass quality control.

Looks like you need a bigger case 😄

mine will be mounted vertical, so no such cable issues (I hope!).

Just remove those plastic pieces in front of the fan, if they don't come off, cut them off with a dremel.

I use a PCI Extender Cable like this one, and I vertically mount with the video card fans facing the door (which is always an option if you have room). Just have to make sure the GPU fans are still drawing enough air and are not too close to the door.

My case door has a giant side fan though (and I mean giant), it's like 300mm or something and it blows fresh air directly over the GPU.

that is why I don`t understand why they don't supply such a vertical connector plug like CableMod is offering as an aftermarket product. it should be supplied with every 4090.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I cannot resist to be sarcastic regarding this Nvidia new genial third millennial cable engineering, this new 4090 is a vivid feet of clay example.

I'm keeping my case open, without any door, so my pc is silent and cold, and I could use any cable to connect any eleephantomatic video card.

And dusty?

Not more than keeping those noisy fans blowing air and dust all the time. Also, I clean the dust every 4/6 months, this is a normal routine.

Luckily my server has air filters 😄

My left view pc has not and when flying the side is 2 inches open at the top. The 3090 is blowing all its hot air to the side in the case.

You have to clean those air filters often and you have all the noisy fans. No solution is perfect, I choose to keep the noise low.

Cablemod have angled connectors, it looks like it will work in your case. I think their EU store ships to the Netherlands. https://eustore.cablemod.com/

I think this was the case on some of the RTX2000-series. Much better solution.

€ 99,90 = $ 100 for a cable …..

We need an 90 degree angled connector
