How BIG is your MSFS?

Featured Replies

I have one M2 Samsung 970 1tb drive just for the sim.  So  far I have used 332 gbs

Addon sceneries, KPDX, KLAX, KSAN, KLAS, CYVR, KORD, KCLT, KFLL, TNCM, KDCA, KIAD, KBOS, CYYZ,

Planes: flysimware cessna 414 AW, PMDG 737-600, PMDG 800, and Fly the Maddog.

10700kf, 3080 nividia, 32gbs 3400mhz, 1,000 watts power, M.2 DVMe !tb, boot, 1tb 7200rpm, storage, windows 10 home

On the 1TB gaming SSD MSFS uses 559GB (Fenix, PMDG, FBW, Headwind with their liveries  and a whole lot of sceneries free and paid) and AIG installed on another drive uses 46GB. Definitely going to pick up a 2TB SSD in the coming months.

251, standard edition

Lean and mean, a lesson learned and my main takeaway from P3D. Less is more.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

It was at almost 700 so I had to clean house and only keep the things I used and I got rid of some sceneries that were just too big.

Mines about 650gb. Which is tiny compared to the 2.7TB I ended up with in XP11 for a postage stamp of acceptable scenery.

total ..........738  GB

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I feel inadequate. Mine's only 192GB 🙁

But I have another 96Gb in my Community folder so I feel better now. 😁

i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

Great question.  On a very related note, I love the concept of dedicating.  That said, isn't there a performance loss by not having FS2020 on the same drive as the OS?  I thought the best setup would be the OS on the same drive.  And...  If that be the case, then one would need a huge drive to accommodate the OS, FS2020, DCS, IL-2, etc... on a single drive.  Thoughts?
