Compared to SU10 this was not as successful 100%. They've piled up too much and then realized they're time pressed to release the 40th. IMO it was poorly planned and executed, they should have focused on small fixes and content additions instead. The prolonged community testing on so many bugs and issues leading to SU10 clearly proved to be successful. They should have never rolled in any AI changes to this release, it's nice they're trying to fix it but for crying out loud, such big changes should be prioritized differently. I like how this sim is evolving, but their decision making, constant rookie mistakes make me question their technical leadership.

Dillon, you mentioned using the WT G3000 mod in your previous post. Can you replicate this error without it?

It may be the mod is not fully updated to SU11 yet and causing the problem.

Keep the blue part on top...

Don't Asobo use the FSX code for AI traffic? Which makes me wonder how it ended up so much worse than in P3D/FSX.

Because P3D is the result of continuos, serious development over years. Therefore the P3D AI was much better than the FSX AI, however as you said Asobo used the latter.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Agree to an extent, but again - it's not just Asobo not understanding things, making mistakes, being new to development (which they aren't). Microsoft is behind every single decision that is being made as long as that isn't entirely technical from a developing point of view. And that most likely doesn't just include release schedules but also what priority different fixes have and what is addressed in an update. It's a clash of a developer's and a publisher's idea of things. There's no doubt however that this is far from optimal with MSFS, both when looked at individually as well as compared to other software. It's never perfect but it can be done better than it is here.

Did LM actually ever do anything with regards to AI in P3D though? I also don't remember AI being this bad in FSX.

For me the sim has gotten better and better. Superb performance (Fenix / PMDG et. al.) and looks that the competition doesn't even come close to. Weather depiction has been superb.

MSFS is working great now, no issues at all.

Only issue for me is the AI traffic, but they will get to it.

To me AI issue was a problem from day one. AI has  not yet be addressed or fixed by Asobo, but I think it's in pipeline. I see absolutely no change from SU1 through SU11.

I think is some kind of reverse placebo effect when people rediscovered bugs they had all along LOL

I was flying an approach the other day, and I saw an airliner over the airport, hovering at around 1,000 feet.. Looked like a blimp, just sitting still..

I really like what Asobo are trying to achieve with the sim.

However, what with the 'must release' fixed date of the 40th anniversary, I do agree that the scope of SU11 should have been smaller (probably aircraft and bug fixes only).

The larger items (AI traffic and CFD, etc.) should've been release only after a long beta for SU12. Releasing with this many issues just word not allowed people off.

They addressed AI with Su11, you probably didn't read the release notes. Here are some of the fixes and attempted fixes:

Quote

Added Departure procedures to Air traffic

Fixed live traffic planes always using the same runway in worldmap

We are now using the flightplan to interpolate position of live traffic planes

 Fixed live traffic cruise altitude

Wind direction information is applied before selecting the runway for live traffic

Fixed an issue where loading navdata packages with BGL navdata deletion flags could cause ident search and other navdata lookup failures

Fixed an issue where an overriding package containing navdata loading the same facility ICAO as an earlier loaded package would be unable to change the QMID of the facility and would receive “facility in a different QMID than the ICAO index list thinks” error

Fixed wrong callsign used by ATC for live traffic planes

Fixed live traffic planes cruising at extreme altitude in game

Fixed live traffic planes getting stuck at the center of the airports

So you didn't notice that since SU11 planes don't spin around in taxiways as they did before? I wonder how you missed that one? I could see that all the time before SU11.

No I didn't notice it so far. AI airplanes used stuck on runway before they do once in a while now.

P.S. I've been flying mostly on west coast don't see much changes
