December 2, 20223 yr I couldn't believe the difference after I deleted rolling cache all of my stutters were gone.
December 2, 20223 yr Same. Although I've found that making sure the rolling cache is on a different drive to the one with Windows on it also helps.

I never had the Rolling Cache set and this is OK for me. Means i have tried at the beginning of MSFS and had a lot of trouble so i leave it off and i was good to go.. cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

Useful if you have a slow internet connection and nice if you fly around and explore a heavy photogrammetry area. December 2, 20223 yr Load times seem quicker when flying from an area where you'be been before. I do delete and re-create the rolling cache from time to time though. Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.

December 2, 20223 yr Like others, I have have never seen the benefits of it and leave it off, from the beginning. I do understand why those with slower internet connections might get a benefit though. I have never had stuttering on any hardware that I have run this simulator on either, but can’t really credit the cache being off to being a factor in the equation as I have no comparable to measure against. I’m not surprised to hear that having it off gives a better result though having said all of that. December 2, 20223 yr I have had zero, nada, zilch stutters anywhere since this beast of a system took off. No tweaking required anymore, kinda removes half of the hobby haha! Ive other things to focus on until January and then in the time I normally spend tweaking I will use it to learn a plane in-depth I think.

There is something to be said about your point and for it I can heartily recommend looking for a way to put meaning or purpose into using the sim. In P3D I used FSCaptain, and now in MSFS I'm using A Pilot's Life v2 along w/ PACX. APLv2 provides meaning by scoring all of your flights according to the list of criteria captured below and lets you apply for jobs w/ the airline(s) of your choice. You have to pay attention to score 100 on these and right now my composite is around 97.8 or so. These sorts of things add a lot for me to keep my head in the game as it were. I can heartily recommend APLv2 though it takes a little while to accrue airplane licenses and fortunately if you're certified to fly B737 you're good for all in class, etc. It will improve your flying skills of course as well. I can imagine your new machine HAS to solve all perf issues because I'm already very close and look forward to picking up AMD 7900x3D or something similar next year. December 2, 20223 yr I ended up with severe FPS from KJFK to KBOI on the PMDG 737. Rolling cache was already off. I think some of these issues are fairly random and caused by Asobo. I do similar flights as "test" flights with no changes and they seem pretty random to me. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
