Anything's gotta be better than the VirtualCol version...🤮

Never experienced a decent EJet in prior FSX/P3D platforms, so it will be a first for me!

The Feelthere was pretty decent, in some regards actual study level, in others unfortunately an unfinished product (user experience, custom w&b, VRAM usage etc.). That said I'd totally buy an E-Jet on that level for MSFS.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Using YOUR money to finance further development.

Isn't that what most developers do?

Normally your money is paying their bills, any fixes the item you buy into and financing the next project

Early Access just starts the getting paid portion early, before a product is officially out.

For the consumer it means you are buying into what you hope the product will become, rather than buying what you know the product is. You are basically taking a risk to get something incomplete early (and usually cheaper) and hope it turns out like what you expected. Whether the risk pays off or not only time will tell.

You of all simmer's calling the Feelthere version decent? You must feel extra generous today.🤣

Only thing I found somewhat decent was the V2 ERJ-145 back then, and they outright said they were aware of the "make believe invisible TOGA button" on the cockpit panel and would not bother to fix it.

Like you literally had to run your mouse cursor over a blank space on the panel to activate TOGA.😏

Never again!

Well, see, there's this adage: hope is not a method.

I'd rather buy the finished product rather than financing what might end up being a developer's pipe dream.

Me too, but there are others that feel differently.

The problem with early access from a customer POV summed up perfectly in one sentence.

I’m sure I used these in xplane, and they were pretty good.

Thanks for the link, some good info.  it looks like they're also doing a P2006T too which may also be worth keeping an eye on.

Does anyone know how what standard X-Crafts aim for as a developer?

This if from the X-Crafts E-jets V2 page, hopefully this holds true for the MSFS version too.

"X-Crafts is working on a completely new product line. These will be brand new add-ons, entirely redesigned and recreated from the ground up using cutting-edge software and techniques.

The add-ons will feature new highly detailed and accurate models of the interior and exterior, authentic FMS, enhanced systems - at or above the ERJ Family level, all across the board. We are working with real E-JETS pilots to help us fly to a higher level of authenticity than we have reached before."

You can't escape the effects of early access, even if you buy the finished product you'll end up with what was defined by the early access buyers (or the lack thereof...). In fact you not buying the early access version makes it more likely that the final product isn't decent either. It's a bit of dilemma. And why I miss the good old times of computer games where the devs just had to deliver a great (and finished) product because there was no internet updating, DLCs etc. It really separated the wheat from the chaff, so to say.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

True. FlySimWare did a similar thing with their Chancellor. After a few months it was updated nicely with improved sounds etc. I know the "pre" pricing is not always ideal, and sometimes can too much money (looking at you TDFi) but overall there can be some improvements.

But its also really frustrating to pay for an unfinished product that may not be upgrade to your liking.

I mean there are still a few issues with several planes that I own that were released as a final product. I won't say any names but it includes a lot of developers. Even some of the developers that focus on higher fidelity planes still have bugs from release.

Then I realize that this is just a hobby.

I don't have an issue with early access method as long as the EA users get a decent discount.  When devs do something like: "EA for only 100 USD this beta product can be yours!"  "Upon release price changes to 105.

That's stupid.  Make it 70 USD now and 105 on release.

I find it weird some folks dislike the Embraer's yoke designs.

I actually love the handlebar design over the traditional yokes, especially the Phenom 100/300 yokes.

Looks nice at least, will look forward to following this one.

I owned the X-Crafts E-jet and enjoyed flying it during my stint with X-Plane...hopefully this one turns out to be similarly decent.

I didn't hate the Feelthere versions but in typical Feelthere fashion the aircraft had several annoying things about them that the devs refused to address.  Beyond that though there was a decent simulation there.
