December 9, 20223 yr I was thinking today after dozens and dozens of IFR flights in the Fenix A 320, that in the three decades I have of simming, I have never experienced anything as stable as MSFS 2020. I take off, after planning the flight using Simbrief, fly a Sid if it is applicable, using PF3, plan my descent into arrival airport, shoot either a RNAV or ILS or Visual approach, land and taxi to gate. No hiccups, no bumps, no problems, it just works each and every time. This morning I shot the ILS into 18C at KMEM, with a 225 foot ceiling, and landed with a 100 FPM rate. Kudos to Asobo.....
December 9, 20223 yr I used to have CTD's on MSFS all the time. Haven't had any for months now. I'm impressed.
December 9, 20223 yr Didn't have much problems with ctd's before SU 11, now its an everyday thing(+other issues). But I solved it with turning off live traffic... Maybe those that dont have issues is not using live traffic or have replaced it with some 3rd party?.. Anyway, Im enjoying this sim as no other before it. I can stay hours in VR just messing around, with other sims I just took short flights and spent most time tweaking and hanging around Avsim.

December 9, 20223 yr Weirdly enough I’m just getting msfs setup after being on p3d and being away from sims for a couple of years and I keep getting freezes when it disconnects on me. Will have to figure out why the Ethernet port in that room isn’t working like it should because the wifi isn’t cutting it. Otherwise everything is solid for me. 5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram
December 9, 20223 yr You know, I think I had one of my best flights ever yesterday evening. FB KIAD to FSDT KORD in the the 738. I did an RNAV approach to 10C and got a follow me car to gate C26 where GSX unloaded her. The surprise for me was that I landed at dusk, in the rain... at KORD...with AIG running... and NO stutters at all. Asobo fixed something, as these conditions would cause SU11 non beta to crawl. I think there was a fixed memory leak. Prior to that flight, I flew KORD to FT KLAS and the daytime, clear weather landing was smooth as silk as well. Something is different, better for sure. I had a CTD while starting the sim yesterday. I used WinDbg to examine the dump. It was the Asus Armorycrate SW causing an ntdll.dll crash. Just a coincidence that MSFS also happened to be running at the time. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

Are you still using that so called "CTD vaccine" that you installed when you were having CTD's and that fixed those CTD's at that time? I remember you said you were on the verge of uninstalling MSFS and going back to P3D but then you used that tweak and it fixed your problems. Are you still using it? No, I took that out once my PC was fixed, about 1 1/2 years ago. Took a Nvidia card for the POS AMD card I had, plus a new PSU to go with the new GPU.

Are you using the default ATC engine at all? I'm starting to think I'm going to go nuclear and delete my whole installation and start over. Keeping my Community folder is a none issue but tracking down/re-downloading every add-on I bought in the store will be a pain. 😕 I'm trying to wait on the next update to see if that solves the default ATC issues I'm having. December 9, 20223 yr What exactly is it that makes you believe CTD problem is related to ATC? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that there are hundreds of other things in MSFS more likely than a script playing audio files to blow up the sim. It seems like the least likely of things to cause a major issue. What is in the event viewer? Have you, or anyone else looked at a crash dump in WinDbg? Something isn't right for sure, but I'd be willing to bet large that your issue is not related to ATC. December 9, 20223 yr I remember the time when plugging in external controllers via usb used to CTD. I agree MSFS is the stablest (is that a word?) it’s ever been.
