There are other sims?

To add an on-topic reply, I just completed KBWI (LVFR) - KDEN (FB) in the 738. It was United 393. I departed 1 minute before the real flight, and arrived 1 minute before they did. 4 hours and 2 minutes. AIG stayed running for the entire flight again. That's getting to be a habit for it. I get plenty of air traffic, plenty of parked traffic, very little traffic moving on the surface. I had a night time ILS approach on 34R, and the landing and the sim were both smooth as silk. There has absolutely been an improvement in FPS over time. I have been seeing slide shows on landing on most flights over 2 hours before. This is good.

And yes, I had AI running the lousy built in ATC for the entire flight. Nag, nag, nag... That's all it does.

Had a great flight tonight, YHZ-YYZ, one of my regulars.  Nice night flight, cruising along at ~60 FPS in the Fenix with my new GPU...it was just great.  One of the things I love about MSFS night flying is the visibility of distant cities.  On this particular route you fly over Montreal, but it's glowing in the distance long before you get there.  Then you can see Ottawa in the distance, and not too long after overflying that you can see the glow of the Great Toronto area come over the horizon.  Very realistic and immersive.

Never been a pain here:  it's all there ready to be selected and installed all under one roof.  Most piece of cake installation of this much content in ever.  Yes, it will take a while to complete but it does that with no input from you.

Another option we have with GSX Pro, if you use default ATC, is to request a gate after landing, the taxi ribbon if you need it takes you there, and meanwhile you're telling GSX Pro what gate you were assigned by ATC and there they are waiting for your arrival.  I tried the follow-me car initially but it's a bit tedious for me.

It's amazing what we're willing to put up with. Event Viewer was my second most used program.

Only the occasional CTD for me in MSFS, otherwise very solid.

This sim is truly amazing .  But it's super frustrating when it bugs out.  Doesn't sound like anyone on this thread is getting the degradation in fps issue.

I'm about to try my 3rd flight since the latest beta and so far, I absolutely see a reduction, if not total elimination of the stutters and degradation that I have had basically forever. Every landing had stutters, some worse than others. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Generally for months, if not over a year now I've had smooth experiences without any major hiccups. In fact the most reason one was when my Bluetooth headphones turned off (I pressed the wrong button instead of volume up!) and when turning back on I lost all engine sounds, made for an interesting landing!

Considering I run in VR as well that's another factor to throw in to suggest I could be more susceptible to crashes and what not, but I look after my windows system and know my PC inside out as well. The only times I suffered with CTDs in MSFS was when I was overclocking, since I binned that idea it's been pretty much plain sailing. Oh and I have a lot of mods installed and external programs in use, so yeah it's good for me.

I remember the time when plugging in external controllers via usb used to CTD. I agree MSFS is the stablest (is that a word?) it’s ever been.

This is why many of us kept pushing the MSFS team to implement public opt-in beta testing where anyone can join. I also remember the CTD bug back in 2020 where plugging in certain peripherals would cause MSFS to CTD.  It was such a basic bug that would have been detected in the first hour of a public opt-in beta testing.

I'm glad we won out, the MSFS team agreed with us, and they implemented public opt-in beta testing. The public opt-in beta testing has made every MSFS release much more smoother because the people that deal with all the hiccups and problems, encounter it in the public beta.

So what's the catch? After the huge success of public opt-in beta testing, there are actually people that want to scrap it and go back to a private closed beta.  LOL.

Maybe those that dont have issues is not using live traffic or have replaced it with some 3rd party?..

Ya never had issues as I don't use live traffic, that AI plane program, that cockpit shaker program and gsx. I keep my sim pretty light on only planes, skins and airports.

With P3D I had trouble a lot having to delete the shader folder all the time and reloading GSX and Ezdok camera when it played up.
