I don't make flights that long. 🙂 Pretty stable here too but since I'm messing around with more add-ons, I get more stutters. I suspect GAIST and FSLTL are the culprit but have yet to find out. December 10, 20223 yr It's certainly amazing, 20 or so flights in the fenix with no issues. Some fps drops on longer flights but think this is traffic related.

What fixed it for me was disabling the option for it to "flee" for safety reasons, and increasing the speed of the car to 16 mph. When the car was too slow, I kept running over it in the turns when it slowed down and I was trying to use the speed of the car to dictate the speed of the airplane. At 16 mph, the car takes off pretty quickly as soon as I start to move the airplane and it puts some distance between us before the plane gets up to 16 mph or above. I can just taxi the airplane, and the car for the most part leads the way with a decent distance between us. It doesn't feel obtrusive any more. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

There should be a checkbox that allows you to see only those packages that are "NOT INSTALLED". That tells you exactly which freeware/payware packages are available to you that haven't been downloaded to your installation. Also, I agree completely with those above who suggest that we minimize the use of non-core options, including ATC, GSX, etc. They might seem great, but everything we add can have undesirable interactions with everything else that we add to the software mix. My list of "gotta haves" has shrunk considerably since installing MSFS. I far prefer flying to fussing, and make decisions regarding add-ons accordingly. BTW, with regard to ATC, if you want the real thing, use one of the online services. Everything else is just a pale imitation. Since I use ATC, and it directs me to a gate, I'm ok w/ the blue ribbon--since they added the ability to toggle off and on w/ a button/key press I just use it to be sure in on the correct taxiway then will toggle off, so really have no need for the follow-me car. And frankly, have a follow-me car at every airport is about as realistic as....the blue taxi ribbon 😐 But thanks for the tip if my attitude changes I will give that a try. I think the taxiribbon is something that could be done so much better, more subtle or something. Someone made a replacement for it but I didn't like it any more than the oem one. My ATC program gives me aural instructions from the ramp to the active runway, so I don't have to use a ribbon, which to me really knocks the immersion down.
December 10, 20223 yr I have the same opinion, it simply doesn't crash. Fenix A320, PMDG738 and IniBuilds A310 are my workhorses and "they just do it". Superb experience. It has become virtually impossible to test the interactions between every possible add-on and every other possible add-on, along with the interactions of those two add-ons with a third, etc. And then include all of the custom airports..... December 10, 20223 yr The Sim has nearly always been stable for me over the last couple of years. The only exception was from saved flights and then only a 50% fail and CTD. As there are other (live weather) issues with saving flights I don't use them now anyway. I don't tend to do long flights, VFR for an hour max with live traffic. The sim seems solid, with no CTDs under these conditions. So as far as sim stability goes then yes, brilliant for me.........Just don't get me started on other issues🤣 MSFS 2020 i7-4790k @ 4.4ghz for the moment. Asus z87-k mobo. That's nice but as I say I only use the ribbon for hints along the way and that is to active runway or arrival gate. If I come to a fork in taxiways I'll toggle on briefly and back off so for an entire taxi it's only on a very small percentage of the time. I use GSX and depend upon ATC to tell me which gate to arrive to, and they tell GSX which one it is, and it all works. I have no problems with immersion with this method, probably because there is no question I'm using a simulator 😉 Edited December 10, 20223 yr by Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. Roy Enter "taxi" in the searchbox under controls setup and it will show up, and you can put any keybind you want there... very convinient:) Though I wish they made the taxi ribbons a little less intrusive. But its okay, I do the same as Noel and just toggle it quicly to get an idea where to go and quickly turn it off again. Edited December 10, 20223 yr by Kaboki
