Save function for Fenix A320 is completely useless???

Featured Replies

Pls stick to the topic, which is about panel state save functionality, not about sim stability.

The lack of a serious save function remains the last must-have for me with this sim that is totally missing. I feel your pain. While I can't wait for the PMDG 777 to hit the market, I am legitima

First of all: you don't die from a CTD second: due to the good stability, the save / load feature is not high priority

To be honest CTD don't occur has often. I maybe get one of two every 6 months.

I have one atleast 2 times a week:). SU11 has been the least stable on my end...  But Its okay, kinda expect that when loading the sim full of third party apps+running VR and pushing settings. If I just ran completly vanilla I would probably not have that many,,,,

My point was just, they do occur, and when they do, a good save function would be nice,

Save and reload a flight it's a must have in high-end aircraft like this, it's unthinkable that it hasn't one. Do you know if Fenix plan this feature in the next V2 update?

EDIT: I was wrong.

It will most probably never be possible for Fenix, at least in my opinion.

Not true, it's possible - it's just a lot of work. We'll get to it eventually, but after V2.

Oh wow that's great to hear! For me personally I'd like the panel state saving (or "turnaround mode" as in the Maddog), so I can return to the aircraft in the exact state (fluids, buttons etc.) I left it on the next flight, makes me more careful during preflight checks because I'm not guaranteed everything is always the same.

I have had 2 CTDs in 2 years and almost 2,000 flights.

You are missing the point, Bob. This is not just about CTDs. It is a lot more than that.

Has this been implemented with the FENIX aircraft?   It's great to hear that it is on the radar.

Not yet.

I have one CTD about every two years. Couldn't care less about a save function.

As long as MSFS does not provide historical weather a save function is useless anyway (except for the very rare CTDs). You can't continue a saved flight the next day because all your flightplanning and fuel calculations will be obsolete.

So this should be a very low priority for Fenix at the moment.

That may be too strong. I can preflight my FMC for a given flight and then come back later and change only what I need to change. I do it all the time in the PMDG and it makes it much easier to find the time to complete something other than a short flight, especially when combined with 4x or 8x time compression. I find this a significant limitation of the FENIX, as much as I admire the hard work done already on this beautiful add-on.

Have a good weekend everyone.

I use this function all the time when testing many flights on the beta team.   The feature works fantastic (Automatically drops to x1 when approaching waypoints), and with all the flights I'm testing on the 737 every day, there is no way I'd be able to test everything I need to on a series of full flights...from departure prep to shut down at the destination.  I can literally test 4 times more complete flights with the feature....and one thing that helps validate issues is many flights with the same conditions vs 1 or 2 because of the real time it takes to complete a typical 737 flight.  This feature is even more important when testing long range aircraft. 😉

One of the best, if not well-known, features on PMDG aircraft IMO.

Does V2 of the Fenix have the panel/state/MCDU saving option yet? For example to use when practicing lots of repeat  ILS approaches without having to set it all up again.
