January 12, 20233 yr Perhaps you should all start thinking about upgrading:- According to Microsoft, the offer (for free Windows 11 upgrade) end date is October 5, 2022. However, Microsoft reserves the right to eventually end support for the free offer. Can I continue to use Windows 10? Yes. You do not have to upgrade to Windows 11. We will continue to support Windows 10 until October 14, 2025. January 12, 20233 yr I have Windows 11 version 22H2 sitting on my work PC waiting for me to upgrade whenever I want it. I have not done this yet because, well......everything that I need works just fine in Windows 10. January 12, 20233 yr It's pointless arguing about it any more then really. The OP has been answered with plenty of personal testimony from those who have switched to W11 without issues. If people want to stick to W10 or upgrade to W11, there is no great issue at the moment - it's just personal choice, and personally I chose W11, and there are zero issues for me. January 12, 20233 yr I have used all Windows versions up to and including Windows 10 (my ancient rig is too old to run W11) and never had a problem. Ran Windows Vista for years without issues or problems. Most OS issues are self-generated. Or someone complaining Windows won't recognize his old scanner from 1988.
February 4, 20233 yr Ill upgrade to WIN 11 next year when I buy another prebuilt AMD rig with a 4070TI. sp

Bootcamp was supposed to allow you to divide the hard drive into partitions and even allow a Windows partition that supposedly would run Windows programs on a Mac. I made two such attempts to partition the drive and install Windows. Both times, I ended up having to completely reformat the hard drive and reinstall the Mac software from DVDs. The reason I was attempting to run Bootcamp was to install FSX on the Mac. It didn't work. I then bought X-Plane (for Mac), which didn't even have buildings at any of the airports. I would be very interested to learn whether anyone reading this message has ever successfully installed Windows on a Mac or successfully launched FSX (or MSFS) on a Mac with Bootcamp? ( UI is my opinion) You know you can at your option make the UI look just like Win10. You can also "de-bloat" Win11, as it installs a bunch of stuff you didn't ask it to upon installation. Another factor would be upgrading. If you do a hardware upgrade, MS may or may not have Win10 support that hardware, particularly after the 2025 EOL date. I'm also thinking about it in terms of MS support of new cpu hardware -- Windows thread scheduler improvements, which you'd think would hit Win11, but less likely Win10. It's more than just -P and -E cores with Intel. It's also the asymmetric CCD's of AMD as well. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
February 4, 20233 yr The big thing with WIN 11 is it adds support for the required TPM - Trusted Platform Module. This prevents your system from being hacked during the boot process. My current system doesnt have a TPM so I cant upgrade. sp
