January 18, 20233 yr I doubt it would affect MSFS at all - We had a similar thread the last time Microsoft laid off people. I am assuming but my reasons for saying that because MSFS seems to be doing well for itself. Unless they have fired Jorg, I don't see MSFS suffering any time soon. Most of the work is done by Asobo which is a separate company to Microsoft altogether. Maybe there may be a downside if they got rid of quite a lot of the Bing data staff but again, we don't really know who they are laying off. Of course laying off staff is not good regardless of the roles and is never good to see. Time will tell though and if any more news comes out on the sort of roles/departments that have been laid off. January 18, 20233 yr They increased employee headcount by over 50% since 2019. This is probably just the start for all of the bloated, overvalued tech companies... Eric i9-12900k, RTX 5070ti OC, 32GB ddr5 5600 RAM, 2TB 980 Pro SSD, Titan 240RX AIO, Samsung CRG90 49", Win 11

January 18, 20233 yr Is Jorg still leading MSFS or laid off?, that would be the first cause of concern. Edited January 18, 20233 yr by jbdbow1970 spelling

January 18, 20233 yr Many tech company ae laying off people. Pandemic demand for digital product was very high and many companies "overbooked" for possible increment demand. However, things a bit settle down (logistic problems, inflation, wars and etc ) My wife has been working in IT industry big companies all her life . She got laid off a lot, even when economy were doing well! Standard turn around in most big companies is about 2 years. After that often people leave to bump up their salaries or get laid off. Also any project cancelation, reduced demand immediately follow by layoffs . But things can turn around very quickly. Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F).
