January 23, 20233 yr I returned a tobii and went back to trackIR5 pro, which, imo, just works better.

January 23, 20233 yr TrackIR can be a PITA to get right. There is a lot more to it than sticking the camera some where and off you go. Once you get a good setup it is unbeatable but for some people that never happens.

Being able to use eyes and head together is a game changer IMO. sp Edited January 23, 20233 yr by Sky_Pilot071

I hope you like it as much as I do - I might even sell my TrackIR gear. Be sure to download Tobii Game Hub too - you don't need it for MSFS, because MSFS has native support of Tobii built in - but for other games, you'll need to set up the sensitivity curves and such like from within Tobii Game Hub. It took me a while to find that out. 😉 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

Maybe my glasses have an anti-reflection coating, can't remember now. Al Thanks for pointing that out. I was using 'drug store' grade readers that gave me the problematic IR reflections...wish I known a coated lense would have helped, always thought using the Pro Clip was a PITA. January 24, 20233 yr One work around to improve the hat clip I read about, but have not tried myself, is buy industrial reflective tape (used to make things hi viz ) and create your own large super reflective replacements.

I had one pair of glasses years ago that had a steel like frame, which reflected light. I had to stop using that pair when I flew.

January 25, 20233 yr I gave my TrackIR away eventually tried it occasionally, but could never get on with it....the action of turning your head in one direction whilst moving your eyes in the opposite direction to maintain your viewpoint is completely unnatural and has to be learned, It never clicked for me . I mention this not as a criticism of TrackIR but as a caveat to consider if thinking of buying any form of head tracker, many love them but its not a given.
