FS Traffic released!

The performance improvements alone are worth it to me.

It would be great if you could do this simple test, in a few spots:  simply test the identical setting with it completely off, then on, and what the frame rate impact is.  So simple to do presumably if you can toggle it on and off easily like you can w/ FSLTL.

How do you do this? Where is the GSX options located?

In the FSDT launcher, the same place you update the program. Make sure to hit update/check for updates after disabling or it won't do anything.

I have the feeling the FPS gains are mostly done by "optimizing" the number of injected airplanes.... Would be cool to see a comparision of the FPS with the identical number of injected Airplanes from FST, FSLTL and AIG

At least for FSLTL it would be interesting how FPS compare to FST when using just a defined number of "static" aircraft on a big hub. Lets say you take inibuilds EGLL and you run FST for some minutes and count the planes, e.g. 60 planes on ground. You can then configure FSLTL pretty easily to match those 60 planes sitting on the gates at EGLL only by using the correct settings. Then you could compare. My bet: difference will be neglectable...

Weird. I can see AI traffic in LittleNavMap, but most of them have departure EGSS and destination LEVC.

I second this and in fact I might just do the test myself to feed my curiosity. With No GA and Cargo planes generated which are very well present in big hubs. I would also assume the FPS hit will be neglectable. The performance gain could be due to less traffic being injected. My FSLTL is set to inject up to 100 IFR flights 15 GA and 15 static on the ground. That's 130 injected aircraft and I never had invisible/ghost planes like I did with FS traffic while using GSX for ground services.

Re your 'settings', what sort of numbers did you use to limit static and IFR density?

IIRC IFR was 40, VFR 7, Parked aircraft 4. Rest was default settings.

I read that FST doesnt give an option of an alternative folder to be installed on, is it real  ?

I moved the folders manually after installation is complete and linked using addon linker

At KDEN with the HJet I can get 55 FPS with no traffic at all. It drops down to 35 to 42 FPS with FS Traffic. With FSLTL it drops to 30 to 33.

Yes!!

So it seems like you have to disable GSX in order for this to work? Hmmmm.....

Not a bad thing, GSX still causes issues.

Ouch, that is a massive drop in both of them, but you must be using far more traffic than my system can cope with and retain perfect performance, and the latter always wins for my needs.  Thanks for that.

Which are fixed by disabling ground clutter. At least for me.

There are 3 Ground Services options available. Set No Ground Services, Set For Fast Gate Turnarounds and Set Standard Configuration. Select the first option if using GSX.

WHere is this setting on ground traffic?

This is where frame generation helps 😄

I rarely see below 60 FPS now, gotta hammer it HARD at LAX or something to dip below.

One thing that was not clear to me in the manual was the Live Traffic option in the world menu. Do we need to set it to Live Traffic for FS Traffic to work or will it still work if its' set to Off?

It seems to work when it's set to Live Traffic but I don't see any aircraft if it's set to Off
