You should add a third question:

'Which PMDG 737 version do you wish you had bought instead?' 😅

I didn't know that the -900(ER) would be available for a respectable $49.99. Had I known, I would have waited, rather than buy the -600. Too late now...

I wonder if anyone who paid full price for the -700 or -800 feels similarly?

Lessons learned, not going to buy any 777 until the 300ER is released.

I've got the -700 and not planning to get any other.  Should there be a decent discount for owners/customers of any version of the 737 wanting to get another version, I might reconsider.

That is the way it should have been.  It's a bit late to do that now; it will annoy people who have paid full price.

It will not surprise me if they do this  at a later date, in 6 months or a year, and market them as a bundle, whether it will be open to those who already purchased I don't know.

There was talk of a bundle discount to be made available sometime after all NG variants were released.
If and when that happens, and for how much, who knows.

As a complete guess, I think in 6 months' time from now we may see something along the lines of $199.99 for all NG models, with a further 15% off if you have a previous MSFS 737NG purchase.

Just out of curiosity and in the light of the by now completed PMDG 737 series, which 737 do you own and which one(s) do you still intend to buy?

Interesting question.  The one selection that is not on this list is the B737Max, which according to RR PMDG is developing.  I am more interested in their FMS upgrade and further improvements to their LNAV, VNAV, and FMS logic.  When I fly Zibo B737 and Hot Start CL650 in XP12, and other MSFS addons like the FlySimware's C414, to find that the FMS has far more advanced logic and capabilities (e.g., RF legs, Hold-to-Fix Holding patterns (used in coding HILPTs on IAPs), coded procedure turns, etc.), and still find PMDG's FMS still stuck in early 2000's FMS technology, it becomes frustrating.  Frankly, I'm not spending any more money on PMDG's products until they get their FMS act together.  It's long past time that they updated their FMS to the capabilities afforded by latest Navigraph databases from Jeppesen.

Eye candy is one thing.  Functionality is another.

My 2 cents...

What a beautiful plane, isn't it?
It's my right choice for a long-haul flight (including some short-haul ones, too). 🙂

IMHO, your poll missed the point.

Would have been interresting to know how many simmers bought the 4 models?, how many bought 3 out of 4?, 2 out of 4?, 1 out of 4? and which model did they buy.

Myself, I bought the -700, -800 and -900. I don't plan to buy the -600 as it is not really used anymore.

That's a lot of money and of course, I would have loved a giant pack with the 4 models with a discount price.

But I make 4-6 flights a week and I know that I will use them for the next 5 years at least so it's not a big deal when you divide that amount of money per hour flown. That's my only hobby, I can afford it, and it brings me fun, so why not?

You are invited to do your own next time. But just the 4x4 possible combinations would have filled a page. I was rather interested to get an idea of model acceptance vs extrapolating PMDG‘ revenue.

What, you're telling me the PMDG has no EFB?  I hadn't noticed.

I don’t quite understand the business model with the amount of time and resource that has been spent on the other variants… but maybe this poll will be an eye opener!

There has likely not really been any more time spent on each variant than when they released the variants as two packages (base and extension) in P3D. The difference is just that they were released one by one rather than in two packages. If the 700 and 800 were released in one package for MSFS, you'd most likely have had to wait at lot longer for its release since additional time would have been needed to develop the second variant before release.

But indeed no idea what they thought about their pricing model, ranging from 35 to 75…

Makes perfect sense actually. It's priced mostly according to the popularity of each variant. Next to no one would have bought the 600 at 75, so a very low price generates decent sales for this one even though it's very unpopular compared to the other variants. At the same time, the 800 at 35 would have been nonsensical (even if spectacular for the customer). The steep difference between 35 and 75 shows you just how different in popularity the variants are (similarly to real 737 variants). My only gripe is that there's no bundle discount.

I got the -700 on day one. Unlike many other simmers, I don't feel the strong itch to get more than one variant when the operating procedures and handling are almost the same, so I probably won't get another 737 NG, unless they're offered at a big discount.

The most tempting variant to me is the -900 one, simply because it has the biggest differences in handling due to the increased risk of tailstrikes and the higher v speeds. The ER also is a unique aircraft due to its larger range, but as I prefer flights that fit in a 1-2 hours timeframe, I probably wouldn't use it much.

However, once the MAX releases, that's probably gonna be the point where I'll buy another 737. While the procedures are still very similar to the NG, the look and feel of the cockpit is quite distinct. I'll make sure though to buy a variant that isn't too close to the -700NG in fuselage size. We'll see which one piques my interest most when it comes to that.

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

I am still thinking about which one to get. I am inclined to get the 800 as it is popular IRL and has cargo, BBJ and passenger configurations. I like the looks too.

7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

Kind of wish this survey asked how many variants you currently own.  The way it is set up its difficult to tell.
