February 9, 20233 yr I never could appreciate this pricing structure for which each variant is so similar to the others. As it stands now for me it's the 738 only. Had they done any initial at $59 and and subsequent (to the same buyer) at $15 each I may well have bought them all or the 700 and 900 so total money collected by PMDG from me would have been more than what they will get under this pricing structure. February 9, 20233 yr I have the 737-600, 700 & 800. I´m not going to by the 900. The diference is not big enough to lt m spend money on another 737. Also I'm mostly flying in Europe, where the 900 hardly can be found. I also womder about PMDG's priorities - I find that a EFB is far more important than yet another 737 version, allthough I know that the EFB won´t bring them money. Almost all other complex aircraft addons for MSFS comes with some kind of EFB or tablet where You can import Simbrief data and do performance calculations. It feels as if PMDG ahs fallen behind todays standards. February 10, 20233 yr The 737 is very good, and has realistic system failures, maintenance options, even the oil in both turbines can run out or overheat. Great realism compared to other aircraft which have an EFB that can do literally nothing but open and close the doors, or refuel. Some day the EFB will be there.... some day. I am hoping for an FMC realism and EFB update too, it´s already an absolute awesome airplane but I never say no to a nice moving map mounted in the side window (that´s what I am using an EFB for in 90% of the time in-flight). But refueling should be more precise with the possibility to type in precise numbers instead of only having the options for "1/3, half, full tanks" in the FMC.

February 10, 20233 yr I bought the -700 because I was essentially forced to. You tricky devils PMDG. I still use it for Southwest and Air Do routes. I really only wanted the -800. So I have the -700 and -800. 140 bucks for digital airplanes...I'm done...
February 15, 20233 yr Question for 737-600 owners, I am thinking about buying one more, and wonder if there is a real difference in the way the 600 and 800 flies? In other words, is it worth getting the 800?

February 15, 20233 yr I bought none of them. In the planning sections I am missing the option, "I don't know" or "if on sale". Since I don't know if I am planning to buy one, I have selected none. It depends on if the -800 and other versions will get a real sale on not that silly thing with 5usd. In the past I used PMDG products much, but honestly I can live without them pretty good, since we have some other really good devs. If the would lover their prices I would be in a boat again, but still waiting for the Ifly 737-Max.

In other words, is it worth getting the 800? -800 will have higher V speeds due to having up to 30,000 lbs more MTOW than -600 and more likely to tailstrike. -600 has 300nm more range, slightly better climb characteristics and better short field performance. It's a personal choice. I don't think there's enough difference to justify spending $70 on another airliner, that to all intents and purposes, is nearly identical to the one I already have. In other words, is it worth getting the 800? I picked up the 600 in November, fell in love with her, and put over 220 hours on her, mostly in A Pilots Life. I got the 900 last week and LOVE it. For me there’s enough difference to justify the purchase. Fully loaded the 900 VR will be around 160 kts and it will take a little while to get there. As you know, the 600 is up to 130 in a nano second and is off the ground. Totally different feel. You’ll feel the size and weight differences. So I feel I have two great models and the cost remains “somewhat” reasonable at $85 for both. Plus, the 900 is very popular here in the U.S., with United leading the way which is working out real well as I’m flying for them in APL.
February 16, 20233 yr I will certainly pick up the MAX when its released...! In other words, is it worth getting the 800? As F737 says, higher weights equals higher V speeds, more runway required etc. But there's also a harder to define "feel" quality that is different. I don't have the -600, but I've had the -700 since launch and find it to be pretty pitch-sensitive and prone to pitch oscillations in turbulence - as the real airplane is. I can only assume both the real and the PMDG -600 exhibit even more of this quality, being even shorter-coupled in pitch. The -800 should have less of that; the real plane certainly does. But, for an even bigger change yet, you might consider the -900 family. The -900ER in particular brings a significant difference in "smoothness" in reality that is hard to define, but very much there. I was curious if any of that would make it into the PMDG version, and I'll be darned... It did. So, if you're looking for a heavier and smoother 737, the PMDG -800 should give you that, but the -900 family will give you even MORE of that, and it's cheaper too. But of course there are other reasons people like the -800s (real world popularity etc) so I'm not saying it's not worth getting; just throwing out options depending on what you're looking for.
