To be fair, I gather MSFS really doesn't play well with turboprops and Blacksquare acknowledge as much in the manual, but still, I'd be lying if I weren't a little disappointed. 

The way I see it... To do a proper turboprop in msfs you'd need to go external.

I'm curious to see what FSReborn does with their M500.

Negative on external.. the SDK has all you need (if you know how) to perform custom simulation to complement MSFS where is required.. I recorded real flights data with the real world pilots and constructed my own simulation for ITT, PROP RPM and many engine other variables and parameters.

Pilots confirm it is very accurate, however we have to be honest between ourselves.. we can get very close to IRL.. but if we want 100% IRL, the only way is flying the real airplane.

This is true.  I'm also excited for the M500.  One can't have enough turboprops!

So true Ryan! I'm disappointed the engine sounds (in the BS TBM) are the default 930. The high buzz saw sound doesn't do the real thing justice IMO, and is quite immersion breaking for me. Milviz did a good job with the PT6 in their Porter.

I think the sounds are similar between the 930 and 850 though.  Plus BS added a ton of custom interior sounds.

There's many other reasons to love this upcoming 850.

Yep, I agree the other custom sounds are great, and the system work is exceptional. I'll be purchasing for sure..... just might turn the engine sound down when spooled up so it doesn't sound like a someone planing wood 😉

 

Seeing this makes me really sad that they haven't fixed the heavy performance degredation related to the radar unit some users including me are facing...The TBM850 is one of my most anticipated add-ons in a long, long time but I won't be able to do flights longer than one hour or I'll face single-digit FPS.

Same. I'm hoping that Raul's M500 will, at least temporarily, stop my pining for a DA50RG (yes, I know it's not a turboprop) to make it's way into my MSFS hangar.

Would be nice to have an early release this weekend!   Wink Wink!  Hype is killing me.
