Long haul for MSFS2020

Featured Replies

Just wondering if the likes of PMDG, Fenix or Flightsim Labs realize just how much money there is to be made by producing a long haul airliner for MSFS2020. Something like a B777, B 787, A330, A350 or A380. We simmers are crying out for it!!! I know Captain Sim have done a B777 but lets not go there.

Steve Shallcross.

You'll be happy to know PMDG is working on a B777 that, guessing, might be out this year.

The 787 Heavy Division and the Salty's 747 are really the only game in town currently for ultra long haul. Then there is the forthcoming FbW A380 - other than that I see nothing interesting or innovative on the horizon.

I'd pay very good money for a 787 or an A 350.

There’s numerous long-haulers in production now from very good developers. You can actually fly long haul flights now with the A310 and PMDG 737 BBJ, which has a 6,000 nm range.

And the headwind A330 is actually quite nice.

You can use the 747-8 with the Salty mod and the 787-10 with the B78XH mod and they just fine to use for long hauls, i did already many longhauls flights with this birds and enjoyed it a lot. ( I've already had hundreds of flying hours with these two mods )

And we have a not to bad MD-11 which is flyable as well for this kind of flights..

If we lucky PMDG  ( 777 ) comes to live this year..

This year probably is a good year for other long haulers to come because a lot are in development at the moment.. 😎

cheers 😉

B777 from PMDG and FBW A380 are the two that I’m most looking forward to.

Problem at the moment is that us short haulers have been spoilt by the likes of Fenix, PMDG and FBW so unless it’s close to resembling study level (hate using that term but you know what I mean) then the current long haul options appear somewhat second rate.

Do not forget to try the Salty B748, you will be pleasantly surprised! In case you overlooked it, it is available on the FBW A320 downloader, choose the Development version. At a lesser level of refinement the Heavy Division B787 could be of interest. The FBW A380 is getting there...

On the payware front, the PMDG 777 is on its way, so is the Aerosoft A330, FSLabs Concorde is on long final, and several Douglas (MD11 and DC10) are also under development. So within a few months, your dream will become true!

I used to suffer from heavy performance drops flying the FBW or Fenix with flights beyond the 4hrs-and-a-half mark (if I recall correctly).

It apparently was a sim issue. Has this been solved?

If so, I may give it a go once again.

Actually very nice. Flew this a couple of times and the flyPad plus Simbrief integration is great, also it flies and behaves nice. Like it a lot and it is FREE

Yeah from memory they released a bugfix for this a while ago. I don’t run into it anymore.

Thanks for the replies. I now have hope.

Anyone know if PMDG is planning on also bringing the 747 over to MSFS? It was a real gem in FSX/P3d. Be a shame if it didn't make it to the new sim.
