What Have You Done Asobo?

Featured Replies

The first time I flew in 2020 I was blown away with things, especially how crisp the ground textures were and how that awful morphing was no longer present on hills and mountains. Wow, what a difference now! For some time now all I can see is awful blurry ground textures. Even with both LODs set to 120 and all other 'heavy hitters' set to high rather than ultra. No AI cars or other heavy scenarios. All scenery disbaled via addon linker, except for the airports I'm using. I have to admit I am getting rather tired of how things seem to continue taking a backward step after each update, at least that's what it seems like to me. For the first time since using 2020 I have had thoughts about reinstalling P3D! That is a last resort, as 2020 has such a lot going for it. Please Asobo, sort this out, as it is a real game spoiler.

The answer to this is simple..... XBOX. This is what happens when you take a gaming title designed to run on a pc and cram it into an entry level console such as the S

P3D all the way IMO.  MSFS has no future.

I think you may be being sarcastic, but to be honest, those of us who saw Aces get shutdown know that your statement here may be prescient.

Yes sarcastic but if MSFS goes away so do I.

Yes. And this is something that's always worried me a bit.

Recent articles have MS admitting that XBox was/is mostly a bust. They are hoping that MSFS moves some consoles and it probably has. But if they determine that XBox is a looser and it's time to cut some losses--well who knows?

My worry would be if MS just says forget about the Xbox and embarks on a rearrangement of their business models.

FSX and Aces studio never saw this kind of money roll in. MSFS isn't going anywhere.

Here we go again! Check your internet speed, ping server, install windows updates, restart your computer, empty your shaders, delete rolling rolling cache. I mean try to do something before complaining here LOL

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Sure money coming in is nice, but they stated last weekend they have 500 developers working this. Add to that all of the streaming costs that they are shouldering, and I can’t see how it is anywhere near possible that MSFS is even breaking even. In my opinion, Microsoft HQ probably views MSFS as a tech demo for Bing and Azure, and will eventually run its course or at least be see the development team cut way back once it has served its purpose or when a belt tightening cycle hits.

Are you drunk? P3D doesn't even compare to MSFS!

I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988.

Windows 11 Pro loaded on a 4TB Gen5 Crucial T700 SSD, 4TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, Ryzen 9 7950x3d, AS Rock X670e Taichi Motherboard, Gigabyte Gaming RTX 4090 OC 24GB, 64GB (2x32GB) Viper Venom  DDR5-6000MT/s, MSI 32" MAG 321UPX QD-OLED 260hz 4K Gaming Monitor.

Another detached from reality psycho-thread.   They've just announced 2024 w/ major enhancements in several domains, just expanded their staff by 80%.  The sim is fabulous and I see nothing that Xbox is stealing from it essentially.  I would quit simming before giving LM another penny for their pay to play beta program.

You did make sure that your online functionality didn't inadvertently get disabled, right?

It's so true the sim looks as good or better than it ever did.  I have ultra crisp textures now which I attribute to either a change by Asobo in the past month or so, and/or using DSR 4x.  It's not perfect, it's not photo-real, but it's closer to those goalposts than the competition by a considerable margin.  One gets used to it and wishes for something better, it's inevitable, and/or, something's amiss w/ Rockcliff's PC I feel...

You can always count on at least one really negative thread directed towards MSFS, a day, on this forum. It really is a PIA.

Lol but all the alternate-reality clairvoyance by these sages are so entertaining though... battling reality with their bold predictions and profound insights into Microsoft & Asobo's financial health, how MSFS is going to fail, how MS is gonna cut and run, XBox being the root of all evil, un-Serious Sim ™️, omgee 2024 is arcadey missionz!! ™️ , omgee 2024 means they need money ™️, ... <insert loony take here> , etc 😂

Yup guess we better all run back to the epitome of cutting-edge that was and is: <insert non-MSFS sim name here>
