Yeah, I think MSFS 2024 was intended to be the July surprise but development went quicker than anticipated and Microsoft decided to release the information beforehand.
July 1, 20232 yr Got a feeling v2024 was the July surprise too. If they can drop a deep dive video regularly from now till release on various aspects of v2024 I'd be a very content man lol.. like, at least once a month please? 😁 Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

Could be, however targeting an announcement at the XBOX event was probably always the plan.

I was thinking the same, but who knows. The latest Dev Update (June 29th) still has the surprise listed for July, so maybe it's something else. I have a feeling MS/Asobo have their stuff pretty dialed in and they always knew when they were going to announce 2024. It's unlikely that they just couldn't wait to tell us.
