I still find it incredible that grown adults (supposedly) bicker sooooo much over the cost of add-ons/dlc in every simulation market (flight, racing). This after spending thousands on their PC, peripherals and rigs.

Perspective people, this aircraft costs the same as a meal for two in a restaurant with the wife. One will give you joy and make you happy for many many years, the other will demand the bins are put out a day ahead of collection!

Anyway, watching the videos for sure she does look a beaut, the sounds on take off are great. But it's not my kinda bird, so ignoring the cost, it'll be a pass from me anyway but one to put on the wishlist perhaps, just incase.

Absolutely agree.

I'm gonna stay in this Saturday night and the coin saved on a couple meals, red wines and beer gets me the F28 with change.  An aircraft that I'll fly happily well into the new MSFS2024 cycle.  A small price to pay for something that you enjoy for a number of years.

Anyway, those of us who are going to buy it, we'll enjoy it for quite some time and cheers to you ladies and gents.  Certainly going to be worth the wait.

The FOMO is really showing here. You don’t have to buy the plane if you don’t want it. JF has shown to me with their B146 that they’re driven to give us high fidelity aircraft, with failures, while including all the variants at a single price point. They done it again here with the F28 and they plan to go even further with the B4 and 747 classic all while still remaining at a single price point.

To me you’re getting a high fidelity aircraft with great sounds, modelling, systems and animations at a fair price compared to other high fidelity devs. The idea that it’s old meaning it’s undeserving of its price point simply means it’s not your cup of tea, and that’s ok. I know I’ll fly it way more than I fly the modern duo and for me that’s a reasonable price.

Grown adults thinking about if their investment is worth it, how dare they? Thank you very much for showing us the correct adult way of handling purchasing decisions: As long as it costs less than a dinner with your wife, buy it!

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

It would probably sell 2x more (or even more) if the price was $40 to $45.

JF clearly don't think so and they have the experience of selling the 146 for more thana year to base that on

If I pay PMDG prices, I expect PMDG quality. As an end user, why should I care about volume of sales?

I'll wait to see the prices Marketplace may have for this plane, before deciding.

Yes, but this plane comes with an EFB straight out of the box

Really digging that deep into a $70 flight sim addon? loosen up. Its your hobby, our hobby, support the devs (reputable devs)

What are you suggesting? "Loosen up, just buy it to support the devs, no matter what it is"? Is this like some sort of charity?

I absolutely have no problem with investing money into my hobby, I spend at least 100$ per month, every month. But I really don't understand how supporting my hobby equates to spending 70$ for something I don't consider worth my money or time, something I don't even want to use at all.

Nevermind.

Then.do.not.buy.it.

If you want it, you can have it… but it will cost u $70. I just get the vibe you’re complaining because of the price being $70 and not that you actually want to buy it.

Embarrassing really.

If it is “something [you] don’t even want to use at all”, why are you here bitc*ing about the price?  You’re forgetting that not even a full 5yrs ago, PMDG was charging $130 for just the base pack on P3D.  This addon gives you *4* variants, each with a custom unique flight & 3D model.  The texturing is superb & they have the track record to back it up.  Go bark up a different tree.

I already answered all of this in my very first post in thist thread:

You see I'm complaining (btw: that's what grown ups say for "bitc*ing") about the price because I (and probably others, see the majority in this thread) might buy it at a lower price.
The comparison with P3D (MSFS' prices have drastically changed) and PMDG (higher quality, better support, and - most important - very popular aircraft) does not work here.

You easily spend over $70 in a few hours on a night out , spend $70 on the F28 and you get 100s hrs its a no brainer for me. If you think its to much you can always by Captain Sim aircraft. Also still no EFB from PMDG yeah PMDG planes are good but no EFB for a $70 purchase

I always look at FS addons vs the price of a round of golf.  Roughly similar in this case, and one of those only lasts 4 hours and is more likely to generate frustration 🙂
