Flightbeam SFO RELEASED

Featured Replies

Just curious if there have been any updates on the status of SFO from Flightbeam?  There were some pics about a year ago but I don't think i have seen or heard anything since.  Are they still working on it?

It's coming. Understandable that lots of assumptions are made since there's little info, and I apologize for that. This is by design due to competition. Also, I've stopped pumping out previews due to

SFO has been in the works for some time. I was hoping they would finish updating Denver by completing Terminal C. Terminal B was completed back in February.

They’re awfully slow though they’re very very good at what they do.

{sarcasm} Maybe Flightbeam and Fly Tampa should give Ini a call (partnership) so they can enhance them into releasing scenery's at a moderate rate and not like in ESP days. {/sarcasm}

To be honest, I really wish another developer would step in with a version of KSFO. I don't require the supper accurate FlightBeam model with all the accurately placed placards and scuff marks, and would really just appreciate having a more accurate and authentic rendition to use.

I am starting to support developers that release moderate quality airports in reasonable time frames -- and I don't consider 3 years to release KSFO as reasonable. But I am encouraged that developers like ini are just taking these on; I hope more do so.

Hard agree, even though I'm a huge fan of both Flightbeam's and FlyTampa's sceneries.
It’s all well and good saying "quality takes time, don't rush it." Yet, for FlyTampa, both CYUL and seemingly now OMDB, have alternatives that have/will kill off whatever efforts FT has already invested into their development.
(Apparently, FT's George said CYUL was 60% complete. Then again, EHAM was "coming soon" back in April).

It's somewhat ridiculous that three years after MSFS2020's release, big, popular hubs like KSFO, KATL, EHAM, EDDF, LFPG, OMDB, OMAA, RJTT, have not been released by any decent third party developers.
IMO, the MSFS market is big enough for smaller/mid-tier developers (MK-Studios, BMW/AmSim, FSim) and iniBuilds to have a go at these, no longer frightened off by the 'god tier' devs releasing their versions and taking all the sales. This is especially true with FB and FT taking an inordinate amount of time and the 'first-mover effect' being in play.

Flightbeam's airports are always worth the wait. It is a pure joy when that team releases an airport.  Cheers, have a wonderful week...!

in another post, dedicated to LGAV update, George said that EHAM is practically done. Maybe Emilio is waiting for jetways to be attached to the new terminal 🙂

Flightbeam is a essentially a one-man operation (Mir).  So yes, it might take him longer than most, but his end results are excellent.  He also mentioned, at FS Expo, that the bar is very high these if you want be in the A-tier of scenery developers, and that takes time.

I'm a FB fan but unfortunately this means will be waiting years for KMSP, KPHX and Terminal 3 update for KDEN.

Flytampa and Flightbeam have become damp squibs under the MSFS2020 banner. Am hoping they come busting out of the gate this holiday season

is strange cause Flytampa and Flightbeam relesed very fast multiple airports  in the 2 frist years of the sim, but this last year suddenly they slow the production

Perhaps it may be time for FlightBeam and FlyTampa to collaborate, or merge.  For the sake of development staff at least, it could speed up development without compromising quality.  Just a thought.

More to say.

mir does such great work I'm ok waiting.  In a perfect world he is working on SFO and MSP at the same time.  But I have no reason to think that's the case.
