MSFS without Bing map and PhotoReal scenery.

Featured Replies

If we take away the Bing map and PhotoReal scenery from MSFS and have the scenery used in either P3D or XPLANE12, which simulator platform is the best?

My list would be:

1. XPLANE12

2. P3D

3. MSFS

I wonder if anyone would list MSFS as #1?

I consider this a pretty evil question. If you remove the best features from any sim, it will naturally be last in the list.

Kind regards, Michael

The funny thing is that, even removing the best features from MSFS, even OP would still be debating on which sim is the best 🙂

Your  your question doesn't make any sense. P3D and XP are sims of the past. Don't like to move backwards.

I spent 9 months exclusivley flying with XP12 and had an absolutley great time with it. I currently feel MSFS has the edge though, but XP12 has some very good features - the latest clouds are very good and could be argued to be more realistic looking than MSFS.  However, xEnviro clouds are really good!  On the flip side, the terrain in MSFS has the edge imho.

I feel the latest version of P3d is the weakest of the bunch.

I find most of these type of questions to be nothing more than trying to prove 'my sim is better than yours'.  I currently find MSFS to be the best overall sim in my opinion, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying XP12 and saying some of its features are excellent.

Let's just say for the sake of argument, that the sim will still dynamically react to supposed terrain, even though visually flat due to photoreal scenery, I would still prefer MSFS due to the dynamic environment than p3d, even if things like turbulence, etc is still considered overdone. In my opinion, it has better default planes and systems (at least the ones I care about flying). It's also still a better performer. I can't comment on Xplane since I only tried 11 once or twice briefly and didn't care for it.

I think most users on this forum couldn't care less about XP or P3D, otherwise they wouldn't be here. These  posts that seem to pop up frequently, lately, just seem a way for posters to try and get an argument going, and usually wind up with the topic being locked.
