October 30, 20232 yr Yeah bummer. I do like the large map as you fly. Came in handy when trying to identify a bunch of islands south of Japan. October 30, 20232 yr The reality is that PMDG is playing catch up to their competitors, and they are making big posts increasing the anticipation - and on the very delayed release it is very basic and not anything innovative at all. I'm sure it is a milestone for PMDG, but for the rest of us it is last years' news. I still need to use the FMC to operate the fuel, the doors, the chocks etc, and as it stands now the PMDG EFB doesn't really bring much new at all. I understand that they say it is coming. That's great, but as it stands now it doesn't deserve much attention, and certainly not 20 pages here. It's off because of the fixed aircraft.cfg file doesn't have the option enabled, check which one is loading by default that one determines if the flight tablet is enabled or off... FMC > PMDG setup > Aircraft > fixed config (that one will override with the settings saved from that particular aircraft....) Choose your current aircraft and on the next start it will load all your settings including the flight tablet if you have selected that one in the fixed config file.. October 31, 20232 yr Author I took my first proper flight in it last night. Overall, I like it. Sure, I'm bummed the Fuel/Weights aren't there, but once I have the plane setup I never need to look at it. I can deal with it. In actual flight, I liked it quite a bit. I really like how on the home tab, it shows the waypoint route. I didn't try Google Maps due to the bug. The takeoff calcs worked close enough to the auto calc. I do need to try it sometime with a runway I know I'd want to use a different flaps setting. The landing stuff I couldn't see if there was a way for it to plot out the different auto brake options. Esepcially for vatsim, I'd like to see the being able to plan for intersections. The weather worked fine other than needing to manually enter the METAR on landing. It wasn't refreshing from there, but the Home Screen did capture it.
October 31, 20232 yr Don't know if it's related to my CTD when switching to Google maps but I'm currently in a new flight and the Navi map isn't working. The right side of the UFT is all greyed out. Pre-flight calculations all worked as normal. B450 Tomahawk Max / Ryzen 7 5800x3D / RTX 3060ti 8G / Noctua NH-UI21S Max Cooling / 32G Patriot RAM / 1TB NVME / 450G SSD / Thrustmaster TCA & Throttle Quadrant / Xiaomi 32" Wide Curved Monitor 1440p 144hz
October 31, 20232 yr Fortunately i only use it to auto-fill the flightplan from SimBrief, so all is fine for me, my calculations were already external and i still prefer that. I do wish that the FP was imported into memory instead of cluttering my FP folders with text files that i have to delete manually before i have a list so huge i can't even find the flight plan i want to use. Sigh. October 31, 20232 yr Come ony ou can't even use intersections or at least manually change the runway length?! I don't think I've ever been that disappointed by PMDG (well except waiting for GFO maybe...). For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Should you wish to take off from a runway intersection, you can insert the remaining runway length by editing the displayed Runway Length." Edit: PMDG really had a communication snafu with this. Their techs are all "Ya, that field isn't editable" and the RTFM they direct people to says it is editable. Edited October 31, 20232 yr by BrammyH
