World Update XV: Nordics & Greenland Trailer

Featured Replies

Is anybody in Sweden seeing any updates to the dem? I don't see any difference in dem or any new aerials, but I see some POI. Perhaps overloading of servers again.

(I have installed the new WU and updates to the old Nordic WU in case anybody asks 🙂 )

EDIT: Working now! 🙂

That's a part of the Nordics and Greenland?

[MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]

Quick check on WU 15 shows that in addition to the 5 'hand-crafted' airports there are 3 new generic airports BGUQ, BIMK, ENAS and 135 Brazilian airstrips - they also removed one wrong ident for a US airfield

Actually 134 in Brazil and 1 airfield in South Dakota

Clean up of Canada's TIN (photogrammetry) is included in WU15.

Woooheeey!!! 😃😃😃

Thank you soo much to Asobo & Microsoft!! for updating "my" region and also giving it a real Boost.

I am from Norway(in Scandinavia region) , looks like next Flight will be *Very GOOD*

New DEM and new photos/satelite picture-ground 😲😀😀 wooohoo.. some of the shots from the trailer looked spectacular wow.. the Artic is really looking like Snow/ice/glaciers now how cool...

No to be big demanding, but there is also a beatiful Fortress(Akershus Fortress) especially when it is Evening, quite close to the Cruise-harbour area in Oslo-fjord and quite famous, when they made a TIN city *as Oslo the Capital of Norway*, why did they not "also include" such a famous Landmark from Gaya(the castle experts) 😮😮

Maybe it is included in the Photogrammetry area, But I think such a famous landmark of Oslo, should have been modelled by the Gaya 3D artists.. 😃

Unfortunately no airports for Greenland😟 and I already have M'M Simulations EFIV airport.
So I have to figure out which one to keep.

Still it is nice for this region to get some love (again).

I'm a big fan of flying in Norway and I have the same feelings. From a few quick glances the DEM in the Lofoten area is clearly improved as seems to be the case with the imagery. The airports Leknes and Mo i Rana look nice and even have interior modeling, which is great. Typical Quality Control issue though: with Live Weather active there's snow coverage on the interior in ENRA.

Thank you Asobo, I can't wait to fly over my home to see how good the new DEM is.

Maybe a cache issue on your end?.. showing fine from far too, see: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/polls-world-update-xi-canada-discussion/546177/1287 ... Calgary, British Columbia and Vancouver areas apparently fixed up nicely too.
