The famous airship with a historic end is coming to MSFS soon.

Would you consider performing a 1:1 recreation of the transatlantic flights? At 2 days in length, even hard-core 'no time acceleration' guys may struggle!

Personally, I'm unsure about putting this in the sim, much the same as I have a hangup about the Twin Towers, or the Titanic in ship simulator. Plus, you just know that someone will release a livery with the Swastika emblazoned on it.

Then again, they are all historical records, so why shouldn't they appear?

Can't wait! 🙄

The skies over Duxford filled with A320s floating by majestically and attempting loops. 😁

I wonder what the flight model fanatics will come up with about this aircraft.....😁

Can’t wait to take that onto Vatsim.

I have been waiting for a dirigible, or at least a blimp for quite a while now. There is a project I’ve been following but it seemed stalled.  Interesting if related. The Hindenburg and Zeppelins in general were a boyhood passion of mine. Many books and models, always a great fascination for me.  I’ll be looking forward to this.

I'm waiting for the R101.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Take off and cruise were fine, but the landing was a little floaty.

I expect you know the Hinderburg is neither?

To me having this in sim is an interesting Novelty though I think I would get bored quick but for those into lighter than air flight it will be a bonus and always great to have choice

Correct. I despise this kind of nonsense censorship. It serves the opposite purpose to what it pretends to prevent. Given some of the abhorrent and despicable behaviour I have seen in the last month and a half and the fact that such ignorance seems to be on the rise it seems there are many that could use an education. Having these things as a reminder in the correct historical context is important in my opinion.

The Hindenburg isn't a blimp, but it certainly is a dirigible.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rigid_airship

"Dirigible" means "capable of being steered" (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dirigible), which is what distinguishes an airship from a balloon.

I’m reminded of the time I went to see the Kermit Weeks historical aircraft collection in Florida.
There were a couple of enthusiasts from Germany there we got speaking to, they were really interested to see a German WW2 aircraft displaying complete with its original livery. They said they’d never get to see that in their home museums as certain symbology was now outlawed.

This isn't true if the symbology is presented as part of a museum piece or the like.

Ah, ok. That’s just what these guys told us, that’s good then if such things are preserved for historical reasons.

Maybe it’s just the fact that it was actually out flying around the airport they found interesting then.
