That's pretty weird! Overwriting or delete+copy doesn't make any difference 😉

  • Really? It's night and day difference. I'm testing the mod right now, on my "old" 3090, and I get a steady 60 fps, with PMDG 737-800, parked at FSDT KORD, at 5120x1440 32:9, I barely hit 40 befor

  • I'm testing this right now and my mind is blown.  I now understand why all the hype about FG.  3080ti, 4K, mostly high/ultra settings and have been pegged at 60FPS on first test flight in the Fenix.

  • I was one of the people who basically ordered an RTX 4000 series card only because of Frame Generation. And FG is really impressive.  Now I'm glad everyone gets to participate in that experience.

and what about using in combination with TLOD mod? conflict ?

Today I mentioned to a mate that I'll never quit VR until my eyes can't take it any more, as I've always vowed since 2016 that VR is the only way to Fly or Drive in Simulators. But, there's always a but, the room my PC/VR rig is in gets baking hot in the summer months, the VR barely gets touched, so with that in mind and an ever curios benchmarking mind I just had to take a look at this mod.

I did my usual Benchmark flight, 2mins long with standard Sim AI Pilot, ULTRA settings as default;

Twice the performance 😮😮😮

I think it's safe to say, when it's too hot for VR (which will always be King for Sims), then I may just fly in Pancake mode, nice!

Will nVidia bring these to us natively?

I don't guess, but I'm tempted to go AMD the next time I buy a GPU...

Meanwhile MFS has turned into a Miracle Flightsim - It is so so so fluid, and beautiful, that I can easily forget about it's few drawbacks...

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

For me the only „downside“ are when I open gsx for example while head tracking still on, then it get’s distorted. But it’s only one press of a button to deactivate headtracking. In combination with the dynamic lod it’s amazing. Didn’t know how much fun it is to fly in the night at cruise altitude with tlod 400

Did you try the November or December tech preview drivers ?

You may also want to continue to tinker with the settings. For example I turn the radeon anti lag off. That part doesn't seem to do anything for my card. most importantly the VRR is hooked up. You can even turn on Vsync in the sim if you want to try that.

Gotta make sure the supporting settings work for your rig.

For me, locking the base frames at 40 + AFMF = 80 and turning on VRR (freesync/gsync) results in an experience that makes me not care when MS gets around to in game FSR. That's how smooth it is. But i can be one of those edge cases.

Sorry its not working for you.

you have vsync in game off? trying to get rid of the tearing.....

got it;

no need to mod with a AMD card.

vsync off in MSFS

DX11 use in MSFS ( no missing tiles 😊 )

AMFM on

Monitor 166HZ

Render scale 150

result, no tearing , gpu is over CPU usage is no stutter and "steady" fps,

result on EHAM Flytampa ultra settings and renderscale 150 in Fenix stand C12 114 fps....Awesome

I wonder why Nvidia won't implement this on earlier cards.  Is it that they want us all to switch to 4000 series and pay them loads of money when their own software could be made to work?

I would say that Nvidia should be ashamed of themselves if a modder has to use modified AMD software to fix an issue that Nvidia should have done.  If they don't sort it out, more than a few of us may be buying our next GPUs from AMD.

Because they won't sell any new units, they want these features in latest cards only to cause hype and purchases from consumers. So from a Business side it makes perfect sense, they're probably fuming (hun) that this was made possible by a modder and they're no doubt looking at ways to break it in a future driver update.

I'd be amazed if they released an official patch personally.

Yes In game Vsync is off. I had it on in the very first tech preview then i figured out the VRR holy grail and never looked back. 🙂

After a couple of weeks using this mod, there is only one thing that "bothers" me a little.  That is the ATC panel that has all the ATC response lines, etc.  I am using Track IR and any head movement causes the aforementioned panel to blur until I completely stop any head movement.  Any one else noticed this and if so is there any solution to it?  Someone else may have mentioned it earlier in this discussion, but I haven't seen it.

This applies to all the menus but most of us seem to accept that as the increased smoothness whilst flying is worth the downside.

It's also bad in the GUI when setting up a flight but again a small price to pay for the advantages it gives.

You can pause head tracking in trackir. Just map that function to a button on your mouse. I have a small side button on my mouse, and i map it to that. It is a toggle.
