Still no release date other than before 2024? They're cutting it very close.

They've said on their discord the release will definitely be before eoy and >=Dec23 (after their "winter wonderland" sale/reveals/etc Dec18-23). During which the Dubai related scenery will also drop. And then the reveal and more details of what their long-haul modern airbus is will come after the A300 release (and also before eoy). They've been a busy bunch!

Apparently there'll be allowing various streamers to showcase the A300 this week leading up to release.

Interesting that A380 at 0:47 🙂 .. doubt it's their planned-but-development-paused one, likely a static prop in their Dubai scenery (also seen elsewhere in the trailer) dropping this week.

Watch it drop on Christmas day, that would be a real present.

Yup, and MJ said to not assume they'll be off xmas day given that it's not a holiday globally 🙂

I'm liking the listed features for FM/systems/avionics:

  • Detailed custom FMS with SIDs, STARs, SEC flight plan, custom VNAV and LNAV, altitude and speed constraints and holds
  • Independent FMS with state-of-the-art high-resolution cockpit displays
  • Custom system rendition including bespoke hydraulic, electrical, pressurisation and fuel operation including unique A300-600R trim tank functionality
  • Cautions and warnings triggered by poor maintenance
  • Realistic RNAV and autoland capability modelled
  • Unique behavioural characteristics of the A300-600R simulated throughout each system for the most excellent immersive experience
  • Extensively tuned flight model to capture A300-600R characteristics including accurate performance; landing and takeoff behaviour
  • Accurate rendition of General Electric GE CF6-80C2A1 [Pratt and Whitney PW4158 variant engine coming soon!]
  • Custom maintenance functions: Engine oil levels, APU oil level, Hydraulic fluid level, wheel brake wear and tire wear

For those curious what the "EPIC mod variant" paid expansion mentioned coming in late 2024 is, I believe it's this avionics upgrade:

The sheer number of quality planes coming to MSFS is mind boggling. I look forward to this one too from iniBuilds.

I actually wondered if this might be a possibility.

I've bought too many in the last few months...I'll get caught up with them all this winter 🙂 Good problem to have.

Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

I am looking forward to this one, as it are still nearly 200 of them in use, mainly for cargo routes with FedEX and UPS, but I favor cargo operations. It looks like they have made this quite detailed, I really appreciate the basic maintenance mode, as this will help the aircraft seem a more alive and engaging -- to be honest, I feel that PMDG can learn a great deal from this approach. I am not so excited for the 777 because it will likely be the same aircraft released for FSX back in 2013. I just hope the A300 is not a complete performance killer as many of iniBuilds things are. I struggle to see the point of 8K textures; how many of us are flying on 65-inch monitors and televisions? Because less then 65 inches we will not see much difference. I see they are including a 4K option, which is what I will use, but that they decided to go natively with 8K is reflective of their challenges with optimization.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

Will be interesting to see their A300 implementation, and just how much fidelity this aircraft has. This is ini's first airliner for MSFS that's payware so likely first true example of what they're capable of putting out for the sim platform (the A310, A320neo, and their smaller birds have given me good reasons to be optimistic, especially how they've embraced the use of MSFS's CFD tech for all their aircrafts FMs).

I loved this plane in XP11 but never really gelled with the A310 in MSFS. Hope they move it forward a bit with this release. Hopping that the performance is better. The Fenix and PMDG are notably better in this regard

It's not a matter of your screen size or the resolution you run your game at. It's the resolution for a given piece of texture on the aircraft itself. High resolution textures is important especially for particularly large objects as there's a much higher pixel density for the given object. 8k textures means improved granularity when doing exceptional close ups. It's like going from 20/20 to 20/10 vision.

4k/8k textures are becoming the norm as storage space is becoming cheaper, graphics engines handle texture streaming a lot better and VRAM is a lot more abundant (depending on card). This directly shouldn't have an affect on your FPS unless you're saturating your VRAM usage (NOT Allocation).

If this new A300 release is poor on performance it will be due to other reasons like long blocking calls on the UI thread. MSFS handles million of polygons very very well leading to exceptional looking aircraft.

Remember a few months ago, when someone asked me if the ini A300-600R would "higher fidelity than their A310"?

Hehe.

Yes, yes it is.

I’m intrigued by this one, yet I’m not. So much of the experience to me is the virtual cockpit. The a300 will feel just like the a310 to me. So it won’t feel like a true new airplane.  But that’s me
