Yes,I saw there's a system / registry trick to make it work on lower than 4000 series cards, but most guys who tried it in MFS are facing several problems, CTDs and other glitches....

No, I am on 2060 and it runs without any tricks. Just check the box and you are good to go.

Unfortunately this upgrade is plagued by some really annoying bugs :

Darn I guess I stay with 5.4 for now...

Well, and today I have removed 6.1 from my system. Unfortunately, Majestic isn't enough to keep that sim around. After all, flying default AC is not all that much fun and today I fired up P3D 6.1 again to see if I still have any use for it. Cockpits are still pitch black even during the day cause the lighting system introduced in v6 makes everything too dark on default AC. The textures on those OLD planes are still old. LM hasn't bothered to update their default aircraft for v6 so that it even looks like it takes advantage of all the latest features. Everything looks ancient. They improved a lot - SOME trees, the wet runways are nice, etc... it's just not enough considering how good XP12 and MSFS look these days. If LR are able to get XP12 to look great, I don't know why LM hasn't at least updated their default AC... Look at that C130's textures inside the cockpit. They haven't bothered to develop or outsource any new aircraft - I don't know how long these have been around as I only started using P3D in v5. But now with most 3rd party aircraft devs not updating their stuff, I think it's time to put it to bed. Unless LM does something drastic in terms of what P3D looks like, the default AC, etc... I don't see the need to keep it for Majestic. FlyJSim has an excellent Dash8 on XP, so... it was nice when it lasted. I am a bit sad, and a bit hopeful that perhaps v7 will bring something to get home simmers interested. New scenery is needed, new AC are needed. Live weather is needed - I am NOT spending money on ActiveSky for v6 cause there is only one aircraft... I invested in AS v5 because I had the entire fleet of amazing planes - A2A, PMDG, FSL, etc... Now? No point in investing further into the platform. I may download 6.2 if there are further improvements, and I will probably buy v7 IF and WHEN it comes out as long as it brings drastic changes and if it has any support from the devs.

I was thinking about reinstalling v5.4 with all my aircraft, but I don't like old versions of anything, so if the newest P3D isn't supported, this isn't for me any longer. I will be around still and keep reading discussions here about any new developments.

@BostonJeremy77 Thanks for your report on 6.1. I'm still on 5.4 and thought maybe now, after 6.1 was released, i would try it. So still nothing better than in the begin and I will still not buy it. Sad seeing you leaving us too but I understand you.

@BostonJeremy77, I can understand your reasons for abandoning P3Dv6. I never thought there was enough of an improvement over v5 to make a purchase worthwhile.

What I am struggling to understand is your reasons for not reverting to v5.4. You have invested heavily in quality aircraft and presumably have ASP3D which must make that version so much more enjoyable.

Just because it’s not the latest version seems an odd decision not to reinstall it. XP is not without its problems and neither is MSFS. Might you be jumping from the frying pan into the fire?

I had to revert from v5.4 to v5.3HF2 because of lockups almost certainly caused by an incompatibility between my AIG Ai and the changes LM made to 5.4.

I’ve just completed Helsinki to Frankfurt in the Xtreme Prototypes Lear 25 with 3rd party airports at both ends, Radar Contact controlling my flight and excellent weather injected by ASP3D. I have reached sim heaven. I can stay with this release for a long time since my new computer can handle everything thrown at it including FS Labs Concorde departures out of Heathrow.

I would seriously urge you to reconsider your decision. V5.4 still has a lot to offer.

I was among those eagerly awaiting 6, but after looking around and reading, I decided to stay with 5.4. It is my bad habit to tweak, ignoring the instruction, if it's not broke, don't fix it. So, I messed up a couple of times with this and that, but it is a hobby. That's how I look at it in my quest for some sort of sim Nirvana. For the moment, I have it and am very happy with 5.4.  However,  I would like to see some weather improvements. For example, fog looks good, but on a cloudy day when I look out the window of my home, I see clouds down to the horizon. On p3d they never quite reach that far, even with Envshade, Active Sky and Cloud Art. I recall reading somewhere that is a condition of the sim itself, and nothing will really fix that. Is that correct?

Interestingly since I added FC Scenery to my P3dV6 it is for me a different sim and the immersion factor is definitely there.

So far I have installed FCS Manitoba, Sask & New Brunswick and will shortly add Alberta and Ontario. Canada is well populated from one coast to the other with decent V6 add-on airports from SimAddOns and coupled with Active Sky V6 this has the foundation of a very good sim. Again, for me. Your mileage my vary. Like MSFS 2020 left more than a little to be desired at first and eventually grew into a decent sim this on, V6 will as well.

Yep, so far the only aircraft for me in there Is the Majestic but it is a pretty cool aircraft. Apparently Xtreme Prototypes Lear 25/28 are not that far away and I think I read somewhere that the MadDog will be coming to V6 as well.

I think it's just more in my head than anything. I always like to have the latest version of anything. When I bought v6, I uninstalled 5.3 (never did 5.4 cause I wasn't flying in P3D as much, but rather XP12)... When I was on 5.3, I would fly P3D over XP11 and MSFS gladly because I literally spent thousands on it. I have ALL the Orbx stuff, regions and all, I have everything by PMDG, FSLabs, A2A, Majestic, and even the older more enjoyable Captain Sim stuff (god, I hate even talking about them now since their offerings in MSFS)... I really felt the world was vibrant and alive and the fidelity on the aircraft was unsurpassed. I am having a hard time flying PMDG in MSFS nowadays because the weather is just... weird. It may be an approximation of live, and it LOOKS great, but there is no weather radar in Fenix A320 or PMDG and that kind of really breaks immersion for me. I am not even talking about the Concorde in MSFS. That sim has so many problems... they ARE making meaningful progress, but are stubborn about weather. P3D WAS the most enjoyable sim until XP12 came along. Yes, it has issues, and I don't enjoy not having ANY mesh for far north and far south of the planet, but for the most part, it's very immersive. But I do miss my v5 install. To go back to it requires accepting that I am going to be on an outdated version of a sim that has lost support anyway. I guess, the flipside is that the products I did spend money on still work and there isn't anything wrong with them. Additionally, there is no 737 MAX on any sim except for v5 right now and I could buy that... and I COULD buy the new Concorde, which seems to be even higher fidelity than the Colimata one for XP12... The part that is unfortunate is that v6.1 is the best performing version of P3D. I get 30 FPS (cause I lock it to that) consistently on it. The downside is that while the environment got better (volumetric clouds, etc), now everything is pitch black in cockpits even during the day unless the sun is shining directly onto it. I HAVE given thought to installing v5 again... cause that to me, was the version I got the most enjoyment from.

You will be very happy with the XP Lear set when available for V6. I am in 5.4

I haven't looked into it... I know the FlySimWare came out with a Lear on MSFS in early access right now and everyone is happy, but I am kinda taking a break from MSFS... Got fed up right around the time I was in the last Sim Update 14 Beta and they released the iniBuilds A320Neo, which was bugged, and then instead of fixing the bugs, they just pulled it out and basically said "it's not ready... we need a few more months to put it out".

I think if I reinstall P3D v5, I am most excited about the MAX and the Concorde (which I was going to get, but when they said it wasn't for v6, I abandoned the plan to buy it).
