MSFS Auto FPS App

The latest test version 2 with changed FPS Cap algorithm gives be the best results I ever had with your software heaven sent 😇 Thank you so much! Rock solid 60 fps (FG on) in nearly every situation.
Interestingly, I had to disable the VRAM+ option (FS 2020), as it lowered the LODs as expected, but much harsher than the bare FPS cap alone. Sitting in my PMDG 737, EDDF, with traffic around, GPU-Z says 100% VRAM on my 4080 Ti, but TLOD is 100 or even 150 without any stutters (ok, panning in external view does stutter a little bit). With VRAM + ticked on top, TLOD drops to 50 or less cause of the max filled VRAM. Even lowering texture resolution from ultra to high has only little effect in this scenario. I suspect, DX12 fills the VRAM with nearly everything it can get, so it triggers the VRAM + reduction unnecessarily. Very strange.
So, again, thanks a lot, your marvelous piece of software gives me the best after-work-relaxing short hops across Europe I ever had 🤩

I am pleased the app is working so well for you now. Well, except for VRAM+ for 2020 for you, which was only recently reintroduced in the LOD-only form it was originally released with per user request.

The reason I never implemented the whole settings reduction suite for 2020 was not just that development efforts were being focused on MSFS 2024, as its user base now eclipses that of MSFS 2020, but also because VRAM overflows are pretty much a DX12 implementation issue. With MSFS 2020 you have the option to switch back to DX11 and make all your VRAM woes go away whereas with MSFS 2024 you do not, hence why VRAM+ is so heavily focused on the latter.

Thanks for your explanations.

Yes, i already tried to switch back to DX11, but due to a known bug, FS won't start in DX11, although i never installed and do not use the NVIDIA App, just NV Inspector. And i was too lazy to do a reinstall, neither of FS nor of the NVIDIA driver.

So i decided to turn in DX12 again, and untick the VRAM + seeting, as the results with your app are wonderful even without this option turned on.

Greetings, Matthias

I don't really have any specific recommendation. I've tried everything from off completely to 128GB and can't say I've noticed any difference. I just leave it on the default 16GB now.

I really want to sim tonight and just suddenly got this also.  Worked fine yesterday and no further updates to the sim (unless there was an update when it started that I missed?)

Updated AutoFPS but still fails to run.  Using MS Store version of 2024

This memory map change is a bit trickier than previous changes some new settings were added, which moves the memory offset, but they also renamed some of the traffic settings which causes a mismatch when parsing the usercfg.opt file to compare adding an extra level of discombobulation 😄

Nonetheless, I am halfway there. Primary compat test now passes in my test version, so I just need to sort out the secondary test. Shouldn't be too much longer.
