March 5, 20242 yr More questions arise as I use V2 more. So - in the normal checklist - after start - there's "yellow elec pump". I've always assumed this is auto-on during pre-flight. However in 320 sim pilots livestream yesterday he turned it on manually, as he was doing a single engine taxi. So - on or off during normal procedures? 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

So - on or off during normal procedures? For single engine taxi you have to turn it on to have all the necessary hydraulics for taxi (brakes foremost). In the normal use case it‘s auto-off and engine pumps are used. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I also noticed he mentioned about the realism of the new LCD screens in the cockpit compared to the older CRT ones "they do glow a bit, there's a haze on them", so Fenix nailed those also. March 5, 20242 yr Successfully completed a flap 3 landing at LEMD 18R. Great fun! Almost no flare needed. Got autobrake low set and just rolled down the rwy for a few kilometers to the far end high-speed exit. Just a summery of the procedure: Set CONF3 in the APPR page in MCDU Set LDG FLAP 3 in GPWS on overhead ECAM will display GPWS FLAP 3 Edited March 5, 20242 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Just a summery of the procedure: Set CONF3 in the APPR page in MCDU Set LDG FLAP 3 in GPWS on overhead ECAM will display GPWS FLAP 3 I started an A pilots LIfe this morning from KDCA to KORD. It was an overcast day, , and in the Fenix, my FPS according to Auto FPS, was dropping into the mid 20s's, and then clouds would switch from medium to low. I finally got disgusted with that, stopped the flight, changed to the 737, and now I am in mid 30s to mid 40s, and clouds are steady at medium. Not happy with the performance, which was supposed to be fixed in B2.
March 5, 20242 yr Well the 737 has always been a featherweight compared to the Fenix, performance-wise. A fairly powerful CPU is needed for tough scenarios (major hubs, AI traffic, heavy clouds). 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

They "Fenix" never claimed that the FPS would improve in B2 but at least with more calculations your computer would not "melt down". Take it for what it is. Fenix has more "systems" running than PMDG and I challenge anyone to argue that. More systems mean more FPS hits. Edited March 5, 20242 yr by JBDB-MD80

We all know PMDG modelling is not up to par has Fenix. Is ported from P3D, missing basic functionality still. Edited March 5, 20242 yr by carlanthony24

Not going to say much more but they need to cater to the X*** crowd to get that money. Fenix has brought new life in this sim along with FBW and WT and the rest is living in the old ESP days. Edit: shout out to Fs Reborn , A2A , Black Square etc to give us some "high fidelity" G.A. in MSFS too. Edited March 5, 20242 yr by JBDB-MD80
