That could be it. Like you I’ve got no issues up North, even at very high TLODs in the Fenix.

Yes I do, but a reinstall and restart fixed it. Thanks for the help.

Yes. FG is inactive when MSFS is not in focus. Also, G-Sync will become inactive. The latter will cause tearing whereas the former should not. If you want to monitor the AutoFPS window, select "on top", then click on MSFS (so that it becomes active).

There's a thread elsewhere on avsim that talks about FPS and stutter issues over Europe at cruising altitudes maybe that's your issue? I don't believe I saw a resolution. I have no issues with high TLODs over northern Europe (your area) but I haven't flown south of there in a bit. Actually, I did high TLODs (but lower altitudes) around LYTV.

What does auto TOD do ?

It adjusts TLOD automatically within a set altitude range. In this mode target FPS is disabled. I'm still not sure if I prefer that to my usual method which is IFR in expert mode. I think in some cases it runs the risk of exceeding the hardware limits of my system (if I set TLOD max too high).

Quote

Added a new TLOD automation method called Auto TLOD which functions the same way that Auto OLOD does ie. independent of FPS. As well as being a concept demonstrator of how to implement a simple TLOD automation method within MSFS, this mode will be useful to those using an FPS cap who would otherwise need to use a DynamicLOD app variant due to conflicting FPS cap and target requirements that the other automation methods impose.

Isn’t it an idea to make this Topic ( or a new one ) a sticky so people who only visit this forum once in a while can benefit from this Must have app ?

Not sure if I understand what you mean here. There’s already a very comprehensive readme that should cover everything with regard to how to use the app.

Oh, unless you want to know about the testing and tweaking being done in this thread by enthusiasts. Maybe someone should do a summary of that in another thread?

Im sorry you don’t have the time to read every single post in this thread. I’m sure a lot of people that come here for information find it annoying that there’s 33 pages. The other one was 70+ pages though! 😆

As a sticky it remains at the top of the forum so it won’t disappear to further pages as imho this App is a musthave for everyone.

Or at least a pinned topic with just one post that includes links and vids (your vids) etc so people can start very easily.

I've thought about making a post like that for weeks (gathering all useful tips and tricks in one place), but I've never gotten around to it yet. Probably because any thread/post here on Avsim runs the risk of disappearing within hours/days. Also - I'm not sure how many people check the tips and tricks subforum.

just about to give this a try (fly in VR with the crystal and also in 2d) and had some questions:

1)just wondering if there are any material differences between this and smooth flight?

2)will it change any of your actual PC and VR graphics settings - or will these remain unchanged in sim?

3)if you decide not to use is it it easy to unistall or do you simply not run it before starting MSFS?

The Tips & Tricks forum is where it should go. As to how many use the forum, actually quite a few, bnut there is an old saying " You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink".

If we stickied every really interesting thread, the users would have to scroll through pages of stickies just to get to current content - that's not going to happen. In T&T it will stay visible.

Post the thread in T&T, that's all you can really do. 🙂

1) maybe the developer can answer this

2) only when the app is active (cloud quality, TLOD, OLOD)

3) just run the installer and there’s an option to uninstall which removes everything
