MSFS 2020 Auto FPS App v0.4.2

Featured Replies

Hi, I hope you are well. Any thoughts yet on AutoFPS for MSFS 2024? The in-sim Dynamic control seems poor at best and possibly buggy.

I have just formally released AutoFPS version 0.4.2.10. You can read about it and download it here. In summary, it is a minor update to 0.4.2 that provides new options to address stuttering issue

As some users have requested, I've added a slightly darker background variant to the 0.4.2.10 release page, the direct link for which is here. The two versions are otherwise identical. A side-by-

Since I have the "old" one installed, and it's working fine with 2020, I dont want to mess up things.

How to install to make it work for 2024 without touching 2020 version?

Good question. I installed the new version and it seems to have just updated the other version.  It simply does not work for me with 2024 as I get the message  'MSFS compatibility test failed' when opening as Administrator. I do not see anywhere to indicate 2024 or 2020......app looks exactly the same.

Worked me great with MSFS2024 in VR. Actually made my VR flight super smooth. Didnt enabled OLOD changes, only TLOD. From 50 (from 100ft) to 200 (to 1200ft). No stutters upon TLOD changes and with 200tlod i can see trees great. FPS was steady 72 (72hz mode).

Problème de compatibilité également avec l'application est-ce que ça fonctionne uniquement en VR ?

Je ne connais pas bien cette application, DynamicLod sera-t-il également mis à jour ?

EDIT

Apart from wanting to tinker with the settings yourself I really don't see the point in doing externally now what the sim does internally.

Just set the TLOD to something high like above 300 then set the desired FPS at either half or full your monitors refresh rate, depending if you use FG or not and then forget about it.

I have done it and the sime remains smooth and the far distant terrain crisp and sharp if the performance allows.

same problem, "MSFS compatibility test failed - app disabled" Tried the 3 offered solutions in the readme - none of them worked. Dying to try this out....

I agree partially, but we dont know the logic of sim´s in build feature. With these autofps addons, you have control of everything. For example with SIM´s in build feature, i am seeing clearly the treeline too close. With AutoFPS, i am sure it will be 250 in 1200ft and 30 in 100ft.

MSFS2024 versions tlod changes are more fluid than MSFS2020.

Yep the difference is we don't know what Asobos inbuilt version is doing exactly, having more control is key for power users at least, whilst the default maybe good for most people. Nice to have a choice.
