Monthly AIRAC updates would definitely be a monthly subscription, not a once-off. I will rather pay Navigraph (as I do already), they are the experts and doing a pretty good job.

Nope.

To be fair, I suspect most people disagreed with the $200 paywall lol.

I'm sure you wouldn't HAVE to pay for such a premium product. Personally I like to fly in the sim what I would use in the aircraft.  So a long way from 'useless stuff' for many people I would think.

Little Nav Map is showing it's age by now

It does everything and then some...but the GUI is definitely ancient and could use something a little less Y2K

Why do people go public suggesting to charge more for a product? Stop this nonsense.. For comments like this is why PMDG went from a reasonable price to keep raising it over and over.

That is a partnership between themselves and Asobo/Microsoft. We have a choice in selecting Navigraph for better and more complete data.

Asobo gets all the same data as Navigraph.

Yet here we are with I would think a fair % of users that still prefer to use Navigraph charts (enough to make a good business case out of it). Waiting and hoping MS or Asobo fix or add this or that when we have options of 3rd party devs to fill the gaps.

people are free to use what they want.

If it wasn't for the fact the Fenix and PMDG aircraft need external Navigraph data, I would probably cancel my sub once 2024 releases (depending on how good their flight planner and all that are).

Pretty sure WT will make it easy for them to integrate with their solution

Ideally we should be able to choose whether these aircraft use in-sim data or navigraph. For most of us it doesn't matter if the data is a year old as long as it is consistent. If you don't have Navigraph, the sim is using its own set of data, PMDG, Fenix etc. are using theirs and an ATC addon might use its own, or use the in-sim data.
What you get is ATC assigning an approach that might be no longer in your FMS database.

Personally I'd rather have a consistent database that is used by all addons, even if it is not the most recent. If I were a real pilot who wants to practice his flight later that week it is different.

Flightsim rig:

Display: Acer Predator x34 3440x1440 | Speakers: Logitech Z906
Controllers: Fulcrum One Yoke | MFG Crosswind v2 pedals | Honeycomb Bravo Quadrant |Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant | Stream Deck XL & Plus | TrackIR 5 Tobii eye tracking

I use the navigational database that shipped with my PMDG 737-600, and the only issue that I have at the moment (based on where I currently fly) is that it does not recognise the new runway 10L/28R at EIDW Dublin.

Just briefly off-topic. Whilst I don’t have MSFS I do use the services of MeteoBlue. They provide some great widgets for weather enthusiasts like myself. I have a couple integrated into my website which provide really useful info whether you’re a weather or flight sim enthusiast.

Yesterday there was a glitch in the satellite imagery and I sent them an email. It was sorted in a few hours and their support is excellent.

  • Buy a Navigraph subscription (on a monthly basis) for €9.05.
  • Download the latest AIRAC cycle for the sim and PMDG nav database through the Navigraph FMS Data Manager.
  • Cancel the subscription.
  • Voilà.
