Hi there!. Yea I definitely overshot deadlines for SFO. There are many reasons, a few personal, a few surprises.. but I've gotten used to complaints about development time. I've been in business for 1

  • It will be good but Amir taking years to do it is no longer workable in this environment.

Flightbeam posted some new pics of their KSFO and addresses the new competition. https://www.facebook.com/FlightbeamStudios/posts/pfbid0ksxTa3Rv4QbCUbHtqDqomvVYT72DGKfxZmUzJ95Q9UEVBNkVLzAsYCrjLnk

Bottom line:  FB makes sceneries that are beautiful, highly , highly detailed with EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE!!  That's what I am looking for, don't try to sell me another SLIDESHOW !!

Best thing to come is that I would not be suprised if at the end, the Flightbeam KSFO is sold at a lower price that the BMWorld KSFO.

Still have the problem with GSX crashing. I've already tried setting the scenery to Enable in the FSDT installer. A tip from the iniBuilds forum. Apparently it should work. But it doesn't work for me.

The new version works well for me

Really I don't get you people that deliberately buy a worse and likely costlier version instead of waiting for 3 weeks for a great one.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

For what I've read, this has taken so long that people just don't feel confident it'll take another 3 weeks 😄

I have wanted a better rendition of KSFO since the sim came out as it is the primary United base on the West Coast of the US and for United arguably more important than KLAX. And since I primarily simulate United flights when I fly tube liners this makes me a very happy camper, completing all of their US hubs.

Flightbeam will have much, much more detail and quality all around, but to be honest, I think the majority of that detail is quite lost on me. I do not wander around the airport. I approach, land, taxi using appropriate taxiways and almost always end up at one of just several gates. If I am continuing to another leg, I program the FMC and taxi back out and leave. So on an airport this large, I probably only see 20 percent of it, and even then I am not inspecting the doors to see if the signs on them are correct marked and placed. What I care about is accurate runways, taxiways, signage, and building layout. What is in the buildings, whether the windows are opaque or parallax, whether there are interiors, whether the right amount of scuff marks are present in all the right places and all the small signs correct and put in the proper locations, do not matter so much to me. I am not looking for a masterpiece scenery that takes several years to make; that, for my needs, is overkill. Like buying a Lamborghini to run errands in once a week.

So, maybe for someone like me this version is fine. I have not looked too carefully at it yet but on the weekend I will and if it seems to meet my basic needs it will become my KSFO. It does not rule out a move to Flightbeam in the future, particularly if it is much better optimized, which I am sure it will be, but at least after waiting nearly 4 years for a major US hub, I will have what I have been waiting for.

A funny attempt to stop the sale of hot pies that are already smoking in the window with the promise of feeding us in three weeks ))

So you're starving without a KSFO right now?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

For me, BMWorld SFO was an easy purchase.  No doubt the FB rendition will be more detailed.  Mir/FB deserve their reputation for high standards.

What I couldn't ignore is the BMWorld 50% promo facilitated by buying SFO.  Getting 5 additional airports on my "wanted" list (at a 50% discount) made their SFO a no-brainer buy for me.

Also, I'm surprised at the 'slideshow' comments.  This SFO is one of the most fluid airports I have visited and by far the best performing large-scale airport I own.  At least with my eyes, looking at the structures, ramps, taxiways, runways and surroundings, it looks quite detailed and well done while providing excellent performance.  Frankly, any terminal interior details are wasted on me.  I've yet to explore the inside of any.  I also appreciate the GSX issue was patched so quickly.

I hope we all enjoy whatever SFO we fly!  Have fun!

Best Regards,

Mark

Not that hard to understand why people may not believe "3 weeks". Devs seem to be making a hobby of making a mockery of their dates recently (or forever, so some say).

Highlights are my own.
