In Europe everything MS wants to know from us has to be asked… 😆

Try telling that to the blokes in Menwith Hill.

Seriously even without the clauses put in for 'National Security' the GDPR isnt water tight

A bunch of the internet freaking out about this for no reason.

i hope they do not get it,

to bad if they make a mess like msstore from this😒

It remains to be seen if the rumour is even true. I doubt Microsoft will want to add Steam to their portfolio since then they will have a near monopoly. That will almost certainly cause all kinds of restrictions from both EU and USA,

Why would Microsoft - the same company that develops MSFS introduce a “feature” that would essentially ruin one of its most profitable games? Im not here to discuss the technologically immoral practice of recording our every move, but it wouldn’t make sense for a new OS background app, that they designed — to render one of their flagship games, unplayable. Doesn’t add up.

Yeah, Microsoft has never done stupid things before!

I mean, except Clippy, Bob, Vista, Zune, Me, Windows 8, somehow managing to torpedo IE even after it beat the far superior competition that was Netscape, etc etc.

At the end of the day, MSFS is very profitable but it's pennies compared to what they can make mining the data of everything we do every three seconds we're on our computers.

The irony is this thing could bring the company down, because the first JP Morgan exec whose screen data gets hacked and causes Morgan to be drained of half a trillion dollars is going to sue them into the ground.

How to delete Recall.

Note the first response from Sumit, to wit:

" I'm not exactly sure where you came across this, but the Recall feature is actually only for newer Copilot+ PCs announced recently. This feature won't be available for existing retail PCs running on Intel or AMD.

Just to clear things up, even if you do plan on getting a Copilot PC, Microsoft isn't going to force it on you. You'll have the option to toggle it on or off."

I had a feeling as soon as I read the OP that it's not like it was conveyed in the OP. Not sure why we seem to be having fear mongering clickbait posts on Avsim lately as if it's the media.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!  WHAT TH...wait, what?  Oh it's just a future implementation and the effect is theoretical?

Nevermind...

...except that's not how it's going to work, because the data is all going to be encrypted and stored locally in the user's profile and never sent to Microsoft. I think you're confusing MS with Google when it comes to mining user data...
