May 31, 20242 yr Is it normal to have for MSFS2020 to take a few attempts before it loads? Sometimes it never gets past the initial startup screen but more usually about 2/3 the way through there is a brief hiccup and it is at this point it either quickly recovers and loads but may crash particularly at the start of the day. A reload or two typically fixes things sometimes a PC reboot is needed. If it is a problem with my MSFS2020 install or PC what should I be looking for? My PC only recently came back from the local PC repair shop after a complete overhaul mainly software related and with an opinion that I had no hardware issues. I do have the latest Nvidia driver for my 4090. Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. May 31, 20242 yr Yesterday, I also had to wait a very long time (at least twice as long as normal) The load indicator came to about 50% and got stuck, at least that is what it looked like. I almost wanted to reset, when I noticed the loading crawled forward and finally finished Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024 System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro
June 1, 20242 yr Author Well today with an empty community folder it crashed at the Blackshark screen and on the second attempt it got stuck at the updates screen then on the third attempt it loaded normally. I do note that there at least two other current threads describing a similar issue so maybe it is not just me. Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." June 1, 20242 yr I know it sounds far fetched, but right click on the XBox app (via start menu). Choose app settings and choose 'Repair'. It helped me a few times to 'fix' msfs loading issues. Worth a try! Best of luck! Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
June 1, 20242 yr When I loaded MSFS for the first time this morning, I noticed that it did so with the bog standard original screen (the one with the A320, F18 etc). It did not even have the "40th Anniversary Edition" titles on the screen, which puzzled me as this is the one that I purchased last November. Whilst it did load to the selection menu, I decided to quit and reboot MSFS to see if it did the same thing again. This time, it loaded to that same screen, but with the 40th Anniversary Edition titles included. However, it stopped there. I ended up signing out and booting back to the desktop. On the third attempt, I finally got the normal World Update Caribbean titles during the loading process, and it got to the selection menu normally. That sequence of events has not happened before. I do not know why it happened this morning. June 1, 20242 yr Author Hmm in my case I'm wondering if the problem had something to do with a nearly full drive I am using for MSFA2020. There was a whole heap of stuff I don't need that I have now deleted or moved and MSFs2020 has started normally. But one thing that is different is that at the initial screen I get a "signing in" annunciation which stays there for and extended time before the the starting game annunciation. We shall see. 1 hour ago, Silicus said: I know it sounds far fetched, but right click on the XBox app (via start menu). Choose app settings and choose 'Repair'. June 1, 20242 yr May I ask if you have checked for any Windows corrupted files? This could be the cause of your problems.

It probably did the same what you encountered yesterday, because yesterday I did't use the sim. And then I noticed that it had reverted me back to the old DLSS version. I definately updated already after SU15 released and had been using the newest. Edited June 1, 20242 yr by Farlis
June 1, 20242 yr Since SU15s release I've noticed it hangs at "Checking For Updates" more often, I have to close the MSFS window and fire it up again and it goes straight through the second time without fail, a tad annoying. June 1, 20242 yr Yesterday my sim took a long time at "Checking For Updates", but it didn't hang. Eventually after about 2 minutes it resumed loading. I hope that is a one-off thing and doesn't happen again. I wonder if Steam users have this issue? Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

June 2, 20242 yr Author Same for me today hung about 2/3 the way through loading but loaded normally on the second go. Repairing the Xbox app doesn't seem to have helped with this hassle.
