Sudden FPS drop

Featured Replies

On approach into EGLL this evening I had a noticeable drop in FPS. Much larger than normal (I fly into EGLL a lot). I was in the FBW A320.

The only two differences I can think of are:
- SU15
- I turned off Photogrammetry for the first time this week

Could either of these have contributed?

Yes they can, but first you have to go to NV Control Panel and set Shader Cache Size to Disabled, then reboot and delete the files. Set Shader Cache Size back to what it was and reboot again.

  • I have terrible performance after SU15 for some reason I cant figure out. PG is on in my case.

  • Reproducible loss of FPS irrespective of location and sim session? If so, yikes! Let us know which one it was, please. That's too big a performance loss for very little upside.

Me too, very noticeable stutters -- almost pauses -- but only on approach to an airport since SU15. I have been trying to troubleshoot it for the past couple of days with no success yet.

Do we know if this is being addressed?

I am not having this issue, unless it is a time when the Asobo servers are busy, like during an update.

If your FPS only dropped once on approach, this probably doesn't apply, but a few days ago I installed a GSX profile (for an airport) that dropped my FPS by almost 50% globally, it took me a while to figure out what was causing it...

I've logged it on the Asobo bug report. But everyone needs to be submitting it too so they can release a patch

If anything SU15 gave me more performance did a 9hr flight and no performance degradation occurred. The thing is Ini sceneries and aircrafts for some do not have the best optimization. Included AI traffic or even vatsim traffic.

The patch will be released later this year (hopefully).  MSFS2024.

Had this issue too, approaching EGLL.

Turned off the rolling cache and this seems to have “fixed” it for me.

Can you please link? Thanks

I have found with most major Sim updates that the sim can be a little unpredictable for a while after the update launches. For me it does seem to settle down.

I am sure the servers are being hammered after the updates.

Same here. Horrible stutters on final and when I went poking around I noticed that the rolling cache was turned on. Somehow it turned itself on. I turned it off and no more stutters.
