June 18, 20241 yr Moderator I use my Mac for work as it's much nicer to work on, however for gaming it's terrible because of the poor choice of available titles. Running Windows on the Mac is no longer really an option since they don't use the same chip architecture anymore (I can run the ARM64 version of Windows in a virtual machine, but there isn't much native that will run on it). For this reason, I have a Windows PC that I use only for gaming and it works great for that purpose.

Announcing VR on xbox then seems more likely than it hitting a November deadline, there is good reasons experienced flight sim devs use "soon(tm)" instead of actual dates. Its going to take a lot more than cut scenes and promises to compete with what LR has to show off next weekend. AutoATC Developer

I'm too old and set in my ways for all that straightjacketing boring console stuff. I like to fiddle and tweak. Anyway, I'd miss the joy of spending £1000 on a graphics card upgrade only to find, that after fitting it, the word not allowed thing won't boot!😀

If I had to guess, some v12.1.0 recap, hints or possibly some previews of 12.2.0 (supposed to be flight model/camera/atc stuff) & 12.3.0 (supposed to be a graphics update with lighting overhaul). Scenery wise the new WED version released lately has some features that demonstrate what LR plans next, mainly speaking about "terrain objects", the ability to "patch" (not rendering engine/scenery formats wise, yet) a really high quallity mesh. I imagine LR might talk about the plans for their next-gen scenery formats as well, so the new WED features makes sense, the idea is LR might provide some modern tools to convert mesh & gis data into x-plane packed in raster/3D tiles. June 19, 20241 yr I am looking foward to the precipitation shafts, and hopefully they nuke the XP10 rain graphics. The color banding at twilight needs some work too, it's pretty horrendous. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar

What we have now is pretty much useless, since it doesn‘t give altitude informations. You would thing think at bare minimum that they would have deleted the XP10 warp drive rain effect after they implemented rain streaks on the windshield in XP12.0. Does anybody at Laminar fly their own sim? Now they have a static texture that's suppose to simulate going through the clouds. It looks like frost/ice on the windshield. They should have used the particle system. The Zibo reverse thrust when the runway is soaked with water is a perfect example of what it could look like. June 20, 20241 yr Moderator The rain doesn't look too bad IMO... my only issue with the rain is that it rains too sporadicially and doesn't seem to match the reported conditions or cloud coverage
